Good day Gentlemen
I just found this awesome mod and i must say i love it, im a MG whore all over

.
The only things that are a real issue about the "reality" in this mod, are the tanks damage zone. It is not possible to do 0 damage on hitting a tank with any AT weapon. Shells dont bounce off, they always penetrate, just variing in the damage they do, but its not even close to realism.
For example, if you fire a shell from a Chinese MBT onto the Abrams frontal armour plates on the turret, it will do about 4-5 bars damage.
In RL, this area is armoured (not sure) with 65 cm of combined armoured layers, including Uranium, Ceramic and more, effectivly its as strong as 100 cm of pure steel armour. This armour has not yet been penetrated ever. Usually it would bounce of.
So what i would love, are accurate tank armours and the ability for bullets to bounce of.
Its not impossible, the bf1942 mod Forgotten hope features it almost perfectly.
Now please tell me what you think!

Shells can bounce off of armour. Meany tanks have armour desinged to reflect a shell hit.

Yet they dont most of the time, just put that chinese tank in front of a abhrams , and shoot at the abhrams turret armour plates.

There have been many instances in the first gulf war of russian designed tanks shooting at an abrams, and the shells would deflect. Sometimes even taking two to three shots.
Whereas an abrams shooting a sabot round will pop the turret off of a T-55 or something like it.

i would really liek it if rounds bounced off the armour when shot at certain angles or areas. it would make opposing tankers need true skill to take down the enemy and soldiers on the ground wait for oppertune shots

Its like that in Forgotten Hope, there is a huge diffrence between sloped armour and not sloped.
So it should be possible for the designers of this mod, which i estimate high in skills.

that´s what he said - he complaid about the fact that they actually (<-- i love that word...) don´t bounce of in pr

Shells dont bounce of, well maybe LMG shells bounce of tanks, but others dont.
Thats pretty much missing in any BF2 mod so far.

I dont know if its possible in the BF2 engine, Maybe in the 1942... but I dont know the limits myself. Cause im pretty sure the DEV team has thought about this.

Its not easy, and it took FH very long, but if sloped armour and bouncing off is possible in 1942, its almost definatly in BF2

even if this video is not a fake...

it happens far too little. Its really obvious that a shell bounces of if it hits the tank in almost 0% angular...even for the sucky bf2 coders.
But shoot the turrets frontal armour, its the strongest part of the armour.
The tank will almost guaranteed loose 1/4th of its health, which is a little rediculus if you think its as strong as 100 cm thick hardened steel...

Renember that this is an Abrams tank with standard Chobham, its not a Challenger 2.
