Main Bases

how does this mod plan to lay out the main bases? will they be like rl with fenced off runways and what not. Will they have few strong defensive entrances? Or will they be like bfv, being wide open to rapage? :twisted:

I hope to see both, with main bases/objectives having high fences/walls, towers and an assortment of defensive weapons (possible minefields). Then other bases like fire bases, FARPS or staging areas could have little to no static defenses since they're more temporary.

Depends if the tactical point of interest is a base/camp or a geographical location (valley entrance: chokepoint). So you'll be seeing a lot of it all :D

Id prefer it to be seen as an already prepared force simply entering the conflict area. IE planes and helos should spawn in the air allowing pilots to spawn in them and fly them into the map. As for resuply, a tanker could be orbiting the map for the side with CAS(only one side should have it, if its a ground battle, keep it that, no need to have your own war in a single map). If its a ground map, vehicles should spawn in columbs, and people should spawn in them. If its a infantry map, troops should spawn in a pre designated area, however not in a giant main base.

if spawn raping is the problem...i would like to see AI in the bases...extremely accurate...and with respawn...to guard the bases..where initially people are respawning... :)

or random spawn points...which i don't think it will be a feature in BF2...

Talking about AI...anyone knows if BF2 gonna have proper coop maps..with clever AI...like ghost recon, ravenshield, and recently HL2?

I doubt it. BF:V was said to have "Greatly improved co-op and single plaey AI!". The only thing that changed was how often the bots fired. Theyd fire at you even when they could see you with sniper accuracy! An the only way to incorperate bots is in co-op, wich means bots doing what "they" want.

Pretty much. orgotten Hope has it so that they fly arund by themselves untill someone spawns in them. The problem is if you spawn in them you wont have a parachute, unless you guys an use the code that changes your characters aperance when you enter a vehicle(like the helmet) so that it gives you a knew kit(pilot kit).
