hey i was just looking to get a muslims opinion if there are any who play Project reality.

do you get offended when mostly on insurgency maps being in squads with people who use the voip to say thinks like allah akbar, durka durka jihad and general lololololololjihady stuff.

that is all

i would imagine that it doesn't offend them, because muslims aren't directly linked to terrorism.

since islam is just a religion that most muslims believe in.

but in the context of the game allah akbar is shouted after an infedel is blown up or shot

Someone wrote "Hallal Snackbar" the other day during a game on basrah

We have got to make a few differences here.
1. Muslims in the western world or in liberal muslim countries like Turkey. Who I think can be reffered to as beeing Westerners who believe in Islam

2.Religious nuts and Terrorists. We got these idiots in christianity too and most recently the radical Muslims and terrorsists have been talked about a lot. In PR this would be the Taliban and everybody screaming this stuff when playing taliban properly means it in a sarcastic way. All the other PR players understand that ... i hope!

3.Insurgency. This is way more difficult. Partly they are the second group, but some are just Guerillias who happen to be Muslims.

OMG, you can't be Muslim if you don't believe in Islam. Not most but all 100.00% Muslims believe in Islam.

Now on the subject:
Would you get offended if somebody says the following: "for the king and country", "for the holy cross", "lets slay the pagans" (Holy Crusades) or even "you drive like Jesus".

Many Muslims are just the same as you are a Christian. So before asking, just look at mirror and ask yourself. The chances are that they are the same people as you.

I'll start shout "GIVE ME OIL, GIVE ME OIL!!!" next time I play as american.

I bet every Muslim that's played PR have been outraged by the things said on mic as much as it offends me when people say "Blimey, I've been shot, starlight to my position!"

Ok, as a Muslim, I don't really get offended by that stuff. God is great is a phrase used for example if something extraordinary happens (and blowing up a C2 with Big Red IS extraordinary).
The derkah derkah stuff is just from a movie and doesn't MEAN anything. If at all, the non-Muslims should be offended because that movie portrays them as ignorant bigots.
Djihad is a bit more sensitive as a word, but in my perception it is rather rarely used.

On the other hand, I hate it if people on GB side say stuff like "ragheads" because that is a term used by some ignorants who hate any "A-rabs" just 'cause their A-rabs.

Mostly, if someone starts saying that stuff in my squad, I change squad.

During a session the other day, sat on a hill, kinda hiding whilst defending a flag, there was a couple Brits as well as me in the squad. I figured we'd be there for a while, I always ask someone in the squad to pop the kettle on when we're waiting around. I offered scones arround ofcourse.

That's why the film didn't do to well in the states but supposedly done better in Europe.

I would say if they enjoy the fruits of the west and our money for somthing they have no use beyond lighting up a room and lubrication, they shouldnt take too much offense seen as they play a western game on western gear.

Maybe you didnt quite understand the concept of modern Imperialism yet.
The industrialiced countries dont invade and control the rest of the world to improve their living conditions.
