More realistic MEC uniforms...

Right now, the Middle Eastern Coalition's personnel look very bulky and robust and I thought it would be in Project Reality's best interest to give them more realistic uniforms. Here are some pics.

oh no, although good for realism, id be scarred if the MEC uniforms were close to the US, because id probably accidently start shooting my own guys =X

replace the berets with ski masks please... the soldiers definatly look far too bulky and their camo is too dark to be useful

Yeah, 1st and 3rd pics look the best. And wow, theres an MG42(MG3?) like that other thread suggested.

You could probably just give each side some defining characteristics so you can identify personnel from longer ranges.

They wouldn't be that similar. And it would force people to identify their targets (if tags are gotten rid of)

Probably an MG3 because Pakistan can actually afford a professional army.

tags really need to be removed... people just spraying and praying with hte SAW isnt realistic at all. the old US rule dont fire unless fired upon

I sort of like the MEC as they are now. They look a little "bulky" however they seem just about right. Although we could use alot of different player models and skins for each class. Not just the MEC, but the U.S and China too.

If you can't tell the mec from the us, you should learn how FAST. anyways, i would love to see a more realistic camoflauge style for them, and i would also love for thier SF to have skimasks instead of berets, it would look SO much cooler.

Yeah, the Iraqis in the first pic have such badass uniforms and camo. Ski masks for MEC SOF would be awesome.

I would think a coalition between Pakistan, Iran, Syria, etc..., would be like how the US, British, and Canadians are together, but have different Uniforms, and vehicles/equipment, but the thing is middle eastern countries share very much the same equipment. They might have similar uniform models but different colors or what not. I think the reason they look bulky is because of all the puffy packs and equipment they have on now. You would think most of the fighters would have monotone colored uniforms.
But I can't get a straight answer as I see so many mixed uniforms and that's just for the Iranian Military:

No doubt there should be varying camoflague for all sides depending on environments. The MEC camo is a little too dark atm. I would personally like to see some lighter camoflagues (demonstrated with the Kuwati soldier) and solid ones (demonstrated with the Pakistani soldier) for specifc MEC units as well. Also if the MEC perhaps make a move against Turkey or some other temparate dominated country the MEC could use some woodland type camos as well.

The models themselves don't bother me much. The only thing I do hate is the fact that almost all of their faces and skin tones look almost exactly the same.

Also - in urban areas, both teams stick out like saw thumbs - can you change the camo depending on the map?

How can you give a fictional faction realistic BDU's...

Give the MEC a deviation of desert flecktarn.

even though it is a coalition, it is likely that each army would keep its individual uniforms (if not weapons) in WWII, americans didnt wear berets, and germans didnt wear jap headbands...

BF2 was supposed to include some sort of helicopter rope drop type coding or feature but like many features, they dropped it and was probably just to stir up hype for ppl to want to get the game...

I wonder if different countries should be done up, perhaps under MEC but you'd think they might fight for their own turf perhaps, while the US attacks the different countries.

Edit* I was thinking about saying this before but here I go. Kuwait would not turn against us, knowing Iraq would not go against us probably because we would STILL be their military force as we would be probably occupying it(Plus Iran and Iraq STILL hate eachother). We have too strong of ties to the Saudi government that they would go and fight against us, but other countries like Iran, Syria, Lebanon, Pakistan, a few other who dislike Americans so much and are extremist would more than likely join in, but the main threats are Iran, Syria, and Pakistan I believe. Uniforms for these countries would be more likely than Kuwait-former US golf war type uniforms, remember we saved Kuwaits *** in 91!

I always thought that perhaps countries such as Saudi Arabia and Kuwait would go against us in this BF2 storyline. The western demands for oil would skyrocket, and middle-east nations would be under alot of pressure to supply oil, even at unfair prices. The MEC is formed slowly over time (perhaps starting from 2007 to 2015). Procuring new exports, training and integrating a single army and combining econmies. This way, the middle-east people don't have to "suck" up or "pay tribute" to western nations because now, their power rivals our own.

Thats just my storyline, however an arabic coalition in the name of Alla and go jihad on Israel would be plausible too. :D
