hello all. heard good things about the mod. downloaded it and will try it out tonight (hopefully). looking forward to it.

I am brand new as well, and I was wondering if it is hard to find a server with people on it? I D/L'd last night, went online and all the servers were all empty? Is this common or do I need to tweek my filters? It was late and I am on the west coast...not sure if that is a factor.
Anyways...seems like a cool community...I look forward to playing PR!

Servers are normaly got people in them arround 9pm GMt, 4pm EST and 9pm EST.

You will also want to change your filters on the server search for non ranked, same mod ect.

What I do personally is keep all the filters apart from "Same Mod" clear.

Thanks for all the welcomes. So it sounds like late night on the west coast may be an issue. Oh well...hopefully I will get to play before too long. I look forward to the new BF2 experience!

longhairedhippy, don't worry, the next release of PRMM is coming out in the near future, and you will see a big spike in server population at that point.

I was going to make a new thread but might as well post here. I'm new too, downloaded the mod last night after hearing good things on 50klicks where I'm a member. Got to say I'm totally blown away by your mod!! It absolutely rocks! What you guys have done with BF2 should have been there from the start and you could all put DICE and EA coders to shame! I played on SAS server last night and it must have had more than 30 people on it. I loved Oasis, waiting in the little buildings with my SAW at the ready while waves of MEC guys came charging over the hill, great stuff.

Can I ask a wee question, are there any unlocks or are we limited to standard issue weapons (although I'm not complaining cause the M16 is sweet with the changes you've made so not complaining!)

So, can you give us a taster of what's to come in the next version? I've read about the British Army and being a Scot, I'd love to see that.

DirtyBaz, we felt that the unlocks were unrealistic and we didn't want players worrying about stats to get new unlocks, but rather playing the mod for fun and teamwork. In the future the unlock system may be put to use to allow a wider variety of realistic weapons, but at the moment DICE seems to have locked it down so we can not use it the way we would like.

I totally agree KOC, something about a chinese soldier running around with a British L85 never looked right to me either. Even more so with the more hightech weapons like the P90 and G36E/C's, can't see the MEC government forking out the cash for those babies when AKs are $300!

Also, I was surprized to find no side-arms, is that for realism too? Do your standard soldiers not carry pistols?

true. but $6 dollars to an Iraqi is probably the equivelant to $300 to you or me.

So I finally got to play late last night. There was one server with one dude in there so I played some Karkand single player. I have to say that it was great. The whole feel, the sounds, the gameplay, I love it. It seems that it takes less bullets to get guys down...WAY more realistic. I was sniping with my M16 on single fire. Wow. And there's blood!!! I love it. I really can't wait to get into a good server game. Great job, I love the concept, I am stoked I found this cool *** community and it will be really tough playing on the old ranked vBF servers. Thanks a lot!!! Mad props!

MAke sure your filters are on right. Like have same mod checked, and make sure that ranked server is NOT checked. there are over 30 server that are quite full most of the time. Go have a look.

I have been messing with the filters a lot...and I went on game-moniter.com to see the server listing and yes there is a pretty good list, just no one on. Right after work (about 6:00 PST) I saw a few servers with some players, but the fullest had 20 guys. I wasn't able to play until after 11:30 PST (wife's "honey do's") and by then there wasn't anyone left. There must be something fishy if there are 30 servers with people always on...I will definately spend some time tonight going through them.
Again, I have to say that so far, with my limited single player gametime, I am stoked I found you guys!
