We would like to hear from YOU the community, on how our team could improve on providing you with information and media updates regarding the mod. This would include the extent of which you would be made aware of the things we're working on, how you are made aware of updates, whats in store in the future, and how often you want to see something new, whether in the form of visual WIPs, or information on where we are heading with the mod.
Lets hear your thoughts on this matter as it is your support that keeps us motivated!

in game pics are always nice to see, even if they are a bit rough around the edges. a sort of ideal "time line" would also be nice (we know that the mod is done when its done, but i would like to have an idea of whats going on)

I agree with that, But I wouldn't like to see early models and the such, perhaps models that are halfway finished etc would be good, media updates are always a good thing.
PR updates every once in a bluemoon and I think just having a it update a bit more frequent would really be good.

I run an RSS feed from PlanetBattlefield on my site at the mo... but a dedicated PR feed might be more "useful" - i'd be happy to change if it was available.
If you did do that, it would maybe be nice to have more regular updates - maybe from different people in the development team.. one week the guys doing the sound could say what they've been working on.. next week the level designers etc... - No so much "full updates" - instead, more "tit-bits" to keep everyone drooling for more PR...

I agree with Darkjester although being a tester i get to see quite a bit anyway. giving the public occasianl pics and stuff like that or occasianl info about what is changing in upcoming versions might be nice.

In-game footage!!! Showing glimpses of new vehicles and weapons, etc. It's hard to describe what I am talking about...like sneak peaks but not directly showing a whole weapon or vehicle....grrrr....I don't know how to word it. There are a lot of car commercials that use this technique. I know how to do it...but damn if I can explain it. I think this post has gone to sh*t so I am going to stop now and hope u know what I am talking about.

How about a fortnightly sort of news report in e-mails? Could have things in about the tournament, future ideas, winners of desktop competitions, interviews on future models from the developers, community get togethers that sort of stuff.
If theres a way you can do this I think that would be awesome, I know for one I'd get it

You mean similar to the articles BF Pirates and First Strike do? I think that'd be quite cool actually.

I think a newsletter would be a great idea. I think that it should be run every two weeks, which would ensure that there is ample interesting information and updates to share. Every week is a bit much in my opinion.
For this to be successful, I would suggest having NO PR Devs or Cons actually have to do the write ups. This should be strictly from the Public relations team and possibly active [PR] members. Obviously the Devs would need to keep the PR informed of what they are working on…from there have the PR sort out what should be included and then do some interviews like a real newspaper or magazine do. Could go as far as having some of them available in .mp3 format!
When writing these newsletters, the BF2 community as a WHOLE should be the focus audience. While we loyal [PR] members are very important, we have other means of getting information and updates. The point of the newsletter would be to draw MORE PEOPLE IN!
Make the newsletter read like a real magazine or newspaper. Pictures, organized columns, and maybe even some ads supporting PR clans and servers. We could brake it down into sections like PR Development, Tournament, Server activity, etc.
This newsletter would by no means be an easy task. A good amount of time should be put into it making sure that it is both professional and informative, while keeping its readers interested and wanting to read the next ‘edition’. But, by no means should Devs or Cons have to go out of there way to make this thing work! They have enough to do, so that is why I am emphasizing them not having to be overly involved.
I am sitting at school right now in my Java programming class so I do not have time to include all my ideas in this post. I will add more this evening as I have barley scratched the surface on this idea. I would defiantly love to be able to help out or be involved in this project if it is ever implemented by the PR team.

I dont know about you, but news letters are to much at once.
Something like PoE dose, with a wekly update on things. Be it as small as a new member, or as large as a new model and skin. Any progress news, is interesting news.
