First of all I would like to say many Thanks to development team for the 0.85 version.

I've a suggestion for weapon sight change. If it is possible to create a switch between optical sight and usual sight? I mean that in real life almost all optical sights (except snipers) allow to aim using usual sight. If it is possible to create such a modification in game, that will look like when pressing 3 it will switch to main weapon with optical sight, and pressing 4 will switch to main weapon with usual sight, the way as it works with machinegun now.
I know you could say that there are two kits, one with optical sight and one without, but usualy I play as SL and don't have any choice.

Also there is some problem with aiming, when I'm lying and aiming (5 and more seconds as it is in manual) my first shot doesn't aim to my target, it fly anywhere but not in the target at a distance about 50 meters and above. But if I shoot in automatic mode with 2-3 bullets per time it is pretty precise. What is wrong?
The previos aiming system was better for my opinion.

I don't understand the obsession with iron sights. This "OMG GIVE ME IRONS NOW!". Optics are perfectly fine even in CQB. In CQB they're either far enough out to use optics or close enough not to bother sighting in.

They should really have the BF2 style arrow to change irons to scope for some of the kits.
The main issue i see is that the guns, when scoped, have some insane tunnel vision, really messing you up in cqb or other situations. Real optics allow you to have plenty of side vision while PR does not.

Also he means for some guns, such as the scoped G3, the claw mount rises over the sights to allow for the use of iron sights.

If you like to play with optics I don't mind, but give others possibility to play the way they like.

The goal of the post is to give us VARIATY of how to use weapon and how to play.
Optic is good, but not always. In some sercamstains it doesn't need at all, for example in a city combat when the distance between you and opponent is less then 150 meters.

About calibration of the site after removing and puting back the optik sight, almost all modern sights doesn't need to be calibrated, however this is not important becouse the game is not realistic so much.

Agree if possible, there should be two options. If not be able to do during gameplay, maybe before you pick your weapon. AA has this option. You can pick different sights and mod your weapon as required before round starts.

Hey guys i wanted to bring this back and elaborate on similar plan, and i already do understand that the EOtech isnt issued by the army or marines but such a huge percentage of soldiers buy them on their own i think its becoming time.

My suggestion is fairly simple on many soldiers today stationed in Iraq and Afghanistan soldiers rig up some kind of reflex sight in front or on top of their acog, i dont know how effective this is in real life situations because i have never been in a firefight, but i know in the game this would be perfect for situations where you need a short range sight and not your acog.

Basically if you make a model like http://www.kiesler.com/shop/ProductImages/eot3fliprlg.jpg or http://www.trijicon.com/parts/TA31ECOSweb.jpg you could just simply use another slot from 0-9 to select it like you would do so with the SAW (meaning 4 is deployed, and 3 is ready to fire while moving) that same concept could be used and you could even get rid of the other rifleman class if you do this because there would be no point to the Red Dot rifleman anymore. Freeing up a slot to make a new kind of class if you wanted to.

I would only suggest to do this to the rifleman though maybe the officer kit to (if im not mistaken though the officer kit has 0-9 already filled).

This would definitely get more and more people to play rifleman instead of waiting on kits to (which is really annoying).

And it would definitely add more variety which is important to fans.

I am just trying to find a solution to rifleman who cant shoot short distant soldiers because they have to use the acog (if they have that rifleman layout), and when a guy is 15-20 ft off (for instance in city maps) through the acog he will look like a all star sprinter and is very hard to get a good accurate shot off.

The reason why i bring this up is because in the real world soldiers can just use the irons fairly easily with a sight on (if they arnt able to look directly down the ironsights because the acog or whatever sight is in the way, which is mostly what happens, they just use the sides of them to line up a decent shot) so they wouldnt always have to use the acog giving them the ability to fight short range, which is incredibly important for them as a whole but especially for clearing buildings or on the ground level of a city.

If you guys dont feel like going through the work of re-modeling the m4 (just for the soldier) i have one other possible idea, (firstly i know you walk when you right click haha) is if you create a walk button that wouldnt raise your gun fully but would put your dome (= head) up to and right next to the gun sights so you can get some more accurate shots off then when it is at your side. This would give you more accurate shots than firing in normal view (when gun is at you side) but not nearly as good accuracy as the acog (basically i would make the shoulder view accurate up to 30-40 yards).

But i still like the first idea better than the walking idea, and one more time just to clearify why i want this done is because the acog soldier has no short range whatsoever other than firing from the hip which is no good....firing from the hip is turning this game into one like Counter-Strike (firing from the hip should be used as a last resort ONLY, which is why the walk or another sight would be amazing).

Well if im right the ACOG and SUSAT have a rear iron sight at the back of their sights which you can line up with the front sights on the gun, i know this works for the acog but as the susat variants of SA80 you take away the front irons i believe its on the sight its self, can only guess though. But arent germans getting this when they come anyway?

i didnt know the germans were getting that when its released

yea someone told me that today, that on all acog's (he said) have iron sights on the top

would be amazing to finally have this option in game to switch to iron sights when using the acog, my idea is like a step ahead of this though....i mean if the devs are going to remodel the all the main weapons or just the acog (dont know how it works exactly) why not take a leap instead of a baby step and add the EOtech instead of the iron sights.

iron sights are one thing but with an EOtech your vision of "what you see" is much more clear than looking through irons

take the leap guys, instead of the baby step, its not even a risk everyone would love it and its not getting too far away from reality to put in this game

and yes i do know there not issued and all of them i see are from soldiers buying them and modding there guns, but so many soldiers are doing it now, its hard not to find one guy with this done in a squad.

Making use of the CQB/Iron sights that can still be used when the magnifying optical scope is mounted has been suggested serveral times before. Currently there are no plans to introduce it ('cept for ze Germans, who will have 3x magnifed + an RDS on thier G36 as it has two scopes) and so this thread is locked.
