"attack" huey + passenger seats?

I think, on a map like barracuda, that the number of hueys could be reduced, but you could give the hueys equipped with hydras("attack hueys" as we know them) passenger seats and crates to force them into transporting and helping the team build. i just dont like seeing those big hueys with closed doors knowing that theres so much room inside for infantry.
this would reduce the number of pilots on the usmc team so there can be more men on the island fighting.
i searched and im sorry if this has been suggested 28571571900761,02 times before

I wouldn't mind it, though I wouldn't see them carrying crates. Perhaps have them transport troops, but no crates, and they can still have the hydras?
Asymmetrical Balancing FTW!

My view on this is:
1) possibly irl they can only carry a few passengers due to weapons weight, although in this case that might not be applicable.
2) There is absolutely no way I am wasting a 20 min asset that is the only support on the map trying to drop off a couple of people in AA + .50cal infested lands.

I'm pretty sure its not realistic due to wait limitations, you can only load a helicopter with so much before it can't get off the ground

but does 2 rocket pods with a couple rockets weight so much?

As far as I've heard, a Huey has a hard time getting into proper flight when fully loaded with Marines, and then you'll also have the Hydras as extra weight.

Same reason why the "Battlehawk" UH60, doesn't carry troops.
as rhino has said so eloquently, Weight Limitations.

Mr. Eddie Baker directed me to this thread, as I was a huey crewchief for 4 years in the Marines. The UH-1N is VERY weight limited.
Now, we did transport a recon squad while fully loaded with guns and pods once. Of course, that was at night in the desert (cool weather+low altitude= more power), with a 1/2 bag of gas and doing almost a sliding takeoff. There was no room for extra supplies for them, only what they carried on their backs.
Now in Barracuda, the game is set in midday, probably hot as heck, and humid as well. NOT the best for flying fully loaded with troops, 2 pods and extra supplies.
Even a huey with just the rocket pods would not be able to carry a full squad.
As for what I hope the attack huey could be, it would have 2 door gunners shooting either a .50 or a M249 with about 500 rounds, as well as the current rocket pods. A copilot could mark out targets as a SL would for the crewchiefs to light up.

Yea true, to make it real weight problems would hold it back and as alex said when you got transport hueys why waste a 20min assest for 2 guys in AA and 50 cal area makes no sense thats why there are transport helicopters.

Still not sure why the UH-1N is in game rather than UH-1Y Venom, but I'm sure it has been asked before, I'll search.
Anyway it may not seem like a lot but 14 hydras is a damn lot of weight, much more than you would imagine.

Cause the UH-1Y isn't fully integrated into the USMC yet and probably won't be for a couple of years more to come.
Didja know that the new huey is actually faster than the new cobra? Pretty cool huh?

What rhino said. We dont have seperate physics or fuel limitations or other factors to allow passengers as a realistic option.
Compare driving an empty truck to one loaded with bags of concrete and you have how the feel of the helis should vary vastly but they dont so other restrictions must apply to keep it sensible

and imagian all the more .. not neccicarrly noobs, but if that was possible, andppl practiced and all, the full helicopter would still be harder to fly and BOOM gose the helo

I heard that the chinook is a great deal faster than the apache as well.

the UH-1N was simply easyer to produce on base of OPK's UH-1D than a UH-1Y
