I think the CAS hueys are way too lightly armed to have that long spawn times, so add more 50.cals and rockets to them... plz? yes i did the search  maby adding 2 more rocket pads and 1 50.cal to both sides or miniguns?

I have seen hueys equipped with two 19 round rocket pods, and apparently they can carry double 7 round pods on each side, so I would definitely agree.

Heres a pic of one with 19 round pods.

Here is another, but of a much older huey, still, proves they can carry them at least.

They know... they're asking for it to have larger quantities of rockets, is all.

oh, did not read it right, but i still think that the current one is strong enough and the current UH-1Y is not as heavy armed as some vietnam era gunships

Ahhh i would like to see larger quantities of missles. Cause the more missles you got on muttarah, the less trucks are coming through.

Your first photo is a UH-1Y, which is only just now coming into service. It has more lift capability than the UH-1N in game. We get a model of that in-game, then sure, we'll put the 19-round pods on it and some guns, too. As of now the only thing the UH-1N attack is lacking is door guns, since those are carried with the 7-shot pods.

The second photo is from an air-show; those pods are not loaded and may even be mock-ups. I also can't make out any additional armament (door guns, etc.). In Vietnam the rocket mounted Huey snakes usually had guns with 6-8 rocket tubes, or many more rockets but no guns.

With regards to current UH-1Ns being able to carry the 19-round pods with any additional armament, you'll have to ask our resident former Huey crew chief Noetheinner, whom I have directed to this thread.

If im not mistaken PR is set in the near future so realistically shouldn't the Y huey be in since the new cobra is also in? Now I know nobody wants to really model it but it could be a place holder.

I percieve this to be meant more in terms of politics and international relations than weapons. For example, the volatile hot-spot that is the middle-east middle east of today has united to be the worlds eco-military super-power of tomorrow, forming the MEC.

On most other aspects the consensus has been to do away with things going out of service and get more things that are only just coming into service, ditching the Saxon for example.

Actually, the model in-game bears only a superficial resemblance to the AH-1Z; it's created from characteristics of the AH-1W and AH-1Z. So, I guess you could say, neither Cobra variant is in game. Right now there are only three operational UH-1Ys on their first Gator patrol. They will be in service before the AH-1Zs since the UH-1s are the oldest of the two airframes and most in need of replacing.

Since the Y and Z have so many common parts, both could conceivably be modeled at the same time. Don't get me wrong, I'm not here to piss on your picnic; I'd love to see them both in, but our team has a lot on their plates and right now we're working on other things.

Heya. The heaviest armament we had on the UH-1N was dual .50 cals with2 of the 7 shot ROCKET pods. Yes we could use the GAU-17 (mingun), but then the other side was left with just an M240.

We prefered the .50s cause they were not only the biggest round, but the most reliable. Heck, we even started hooking up 2 100 round ammo cans to each other so we could fire longer without reloading.

Sorry, but those 19 shot pods were just too much for the huey.

Here's a picture of a pic I took while in. The new scanner ain't working.

*off topic* Oh, anyone recognize this ship?

I gots a strange feeling they'll be there in the end......

*note* The M134 is like the GAU-17 on the UH-1N. Still made by Dillon Aero, but just a little bit different I guess.
