did a quick search but couldnt find anything relating to this.

i dont understand why the passengers of the humvee(seats 3 4 and 5) cant shoot out of their windows, i find it quite frustrating that you cant put fire down and have to sit like a duck in the back of the humvee waiting to get shot.

all other transport vehicles armed with a 50.cal equivilant have passenger points they can shot out so why not the humvee? if u say its becuase of other vehicles passengers wouldnt get a radius like the humvee passengers would doesnt make much sense seeing as a humvee carries only 5 not 6 like others, though it is understandable to a degree but its still a big disadvantage and unrealistic (yes i threw in the realistic aspect ooo fear me!)

also it doesnt seem to me that its all that hard to put the passengers shoot seats in when all the engineer trucks got all these new seats and they can shoot out from their seat.

and before you go saying "he's been watching too much generation kill" or some **** like that, forget, you drive down the main road in ramiel and sit in the front passenger seat of a humvee twitling your thumbs till you arrive to your destination.

if anything i believe it would for a gameplay reason, if so i'd like to hear what it exactly is if possible.

Shooting out means people can also shoot in, holding weapons when in vehicles destroys the model/texture quality, and if you ever wanted retractable windows, it's likely you'd cause a new "merlin bug", as well as it's completely impractical, except on certain occasions.

That's just to name a few though.

thats the whole point of this suggestion that they are defenceless, they cant protect themselves.

dont want a retractable window, thats just dumb, where did u get that from?

dont know what u mean by it destroys the model/texture quality when all other vehicles have it and they dont look like theyve been destroyed.

perhaps explain it further not just say it does this and that with out evidence.

I think he might be referring to weapons clipping through the sides of the models.. But not sure.

Why do I think passengers SHOULDN'T have weapons? HAT/LAT + Passenger Seat = ....

Sorry, I never meant to say you wanted it, only that if that wasn't implemented, people would be able to shoot in through the windows (which the currently can't), and the only way to solve that would be to have a retractable window, which HAS also been suggested before.

As to the model quality being lowered, Rhino addressed that before, though I can't dig up the thread as of yet.

I donno about you, but I would MUCH rather have the ballistic glass between me and the bullets then have open windows that I can shoot out of and hit NOTHING.

You're not going to hit anything. Either dismount or drive away. Besides, most of the times they aren't even in your arc to return fire. Ever ridden on the back of a command truck?

The only time I've killed somebody while inside a vehicle with an assault rifle is on the back of a vodnik and that was only because we were stopped and the enemy ran straight up to me. Other than that the only effective thing you can do with free weapons in a HMMWV would be to launch LAT or HAT rockets. Not exactly what the DEVs are looking for.

Locking for re-suggestion. The problem is that while it might be realistic (even if you can't actually hit anything) to fire from inside a humvee, that would also mean that you could fire HAT/LAT rockets from inside the humvee, and that's the last thing the devs want
