There are some games coming out here with a better template than battlefield 2 such as arma 2 and operation flash point 2 both will have the capabilities to make mods for and superb graphics.

My suggestion is to switch to one of these that offers the best modding capabilities
and go with that. i mean immagin the scale these games have and what more you could do with then that the battlefield engine has. please change its time and i honestly dont think it would be that hard it would just take time 8-)

arma 2 and OFP 2 are already combat simulators...so why bother creating a realism mod for simulators? They are realistic as they are now,and PR is good as it is now.

The Project Reality team has said many times they have no plans of moving to a new engine. Both of these engines have been suggested many times. The ArmA 2 engine is not as easy to mod as everyone thinks, its a engine that still has issues and are being worked out by the developer.

Dunno how long you've been playing PR, but it's gonna take a hell of alot longer then the time it takes for a new PR patch to be made to switch to another engine...

Er guys, surely the point is here is that neither of these games are out yet, so whats the point in switching to another engine that you have never actually seen, let alone modded?

I for one dont want to spend 6 months making stuff for a game that turns out to be totally rubbish for modding......

BF2's engine is pretty shit, but it works well enough. If they switched engine that would mean they would have to remodel and retexture every vehicle/weapon to bring them up to the engines standards, remake every map (large scale maps probably wouldn't work on a newer engine), model soldiers for each faction, animate them, and so on...it would definitely take a few years, andby that time the engine they switched to would be as obsolete as the BF2 engine

Not another "please move to another engine thread"...no offense, but we've seen way too many of these, especially for games that aren't even out yet :p

Also, I don't think that you have a clue as to how much work it would be to switch everything over.
