Hey all, I would like to know how everyone here found out about PR.

I found out by watching youtube videos of vbf2 and eventually stumbled across someone with a video of playing pr. I thought it looked effin amazing and I immediately downloaded it. Played for 5 minutes and was like wtf I hope these guys have a manual. Then after reading through the manual I went to play again and I haven't touched vbf2 in about 9 months

I saw that magical 0.5 trailer some years ago.

when i first heard about P.R. is when they got annonced on "TotalBF2" around version 0.3... and at this i didnot had a BF2 copy, i buy the one of my friend, install it, play a little bit vanilla bf2... (only made it sergent...LOL) and then, i install P.R., my life just start , it was so "cool" and way better than BF2... i never go back.

Since then, the only F.P.S. i do play on my P.C. is Project Reality. I had ArmA and to be honest, i prefer Project Reality. I use ArmA to do amazing sniping thats it lol!


I just hope the R-DEV team wont give EVER it up :O

It got one of the first versions (dont remeber which one) from a CD from a Game magazine.

"Gamestar" it was I think..

Googled "BF2 realism mod" long ago...

I was bunnyhopping across a square in Mashtur City(?), and someone mentioned in all chat something about a mod where one bullet could kill you. "Well that sucks" i thought.

When I got BF 2 ( mid '08 ) a friend was showing it to me on the BF 2 site. Those were the 0.7 days

I really do not recall how I heard about PR but I know it was about a week before the .7 release. Somehow I saw the trailer for .7 and was amazed.

i saw some 0.75 gameplay vids on youtube and finally joined august 2008

Back in 0.4, Saw in on the EA Website, Never looked back.

Out of interest, did anyone else join from there?

That dude from PC GAMER with the weird glasses was talking about it during an interview a year and a half ago. Forget his name. That's what got me interested.

Googled something along bf2 teamplay, and PR came up. It feels like a long time ago. Finally got addicted in 0.5 - 0.6 on TTP.

I saw a post of PR 0.32 on the then active BF2Benelux forums. and it twas indeed epic win!

played 0.5 as I knew a few people who played it, I was still a vBF2 payer, though all the models etc were cool, but didnt understand what was happening, just wanted to bunny hop and blow stuff up

Stoped playing for a while then another friend convinced me to install it again (0.7) and i actually read the manual this time and loved it and have been hooked since

looking through the top mods while searching for the FH bf2 equivalent

Two people in my clan played it and got a few lads in it to join too. This was around the end of .6 in November 2007. I used to play BF2142 then found this, haven't played BF2142 in a few months for more than a hour. Kept trying to play it again. then went straight back on PR.

Played BF2 vanilla for sometime, then felt like playing something different, so I looked into mods for the game. The BF2s forums had sub-boards for BF2 mods, the name Project Reality sounding the most interesting.

After watching some trailers, viewing some tutorial videos and checking out this site, I thought to myself 'This is something very different'. I downloaded, and after following forum advice, I read the manual as the megabytes of realism goodness hopped onto my hard drive.

That was around .65 PR, where some Insurgents had shotguns and the VCP in Basrah was cappable in 2007. Time flies.

Me too, as alot of people say it's like I always wished BF2 was like, as with many other people I stopped playing BF2 pretty soon afterward.
