Helicoptors

I absoutly love what you guys have done with the choppers, but some that woud be really cool would be that when the chopper is hit in the right place or takes enough damage it would like spin out of control till it hit the ground and the pilot could like jump out at the last second or he is thrown from the cockpit severly injuring himself either way then he hass to call for a evac.
And also i think the pilot class should have a pistol

Wow now there are 2 original ideas. But, since its your first post I'll help.

The choppers can become disabled, and you can jump out right before crashing, but most of the time your moving too fast and slam into the ground. Also the disabling of the choppers is very random. This cannot be controlled, it's just part of the bf2 engine.

As for giving the pilot a pistol. They used to have a pistol in the last version. But to discourage people parachuting behind enemy lines and killing 1 person to get a gun. They took it out, against the advice of their military advisers. Its a case of game play over realism.

Good thing too, people were making "paratrooper" squads ^_^

At least this way you actually have to call for evac and get the hell outta there.

The helicopter spin is in game, however it only works on local servers, not dedicated.

Actualy its allready ingame, if you take enough shots youre chopper cant steer anymore and starts blowing up slowly, you have some time to get out and proceed.

Me and my clan leader where playing in a apache on karbala while we got shot in the rotor by a technical, emergency alarms went off, he flew abit till we heard some explosions he landed in the desert we ran away went prone and at that moment the apache blew up.
( hollywood jump!! :mrgreen :)

We got picked up by a littlebird 5 minutes later, and where waiting for the apache again.
So its basicly ingame allready, altough not the spinning part. :wink:

Well you could still put the pistol into the game but you should like disable picking up enemy kits or like when you pick up the enemy kit their weapons are disabled because i know that you need to pick up kits in the insurgency game modes to get intel,or give a weaker pistol or limited ammo.
Ive had the chopper get hit in the tail when i was in a heuy and it went down slowly i jumped out and it blew up but i spinn is just so much cooler cuz i showes that the tail rotor is out
And why does the spin only work on local servers?

Another thing that would be amazing to add to the chopper is the ropes you drop fromm the sides, the guys slide down them, then the ropes are dropped and the chopper flies away. it would eliminate the need to land in tight spaces.

You just murdered your own thread in cold blood.

The ropes of which you speaketh of are fastropes. Fastropes have become the biggest inside-joke in the entire PR community. It seems like we get a new thread "suggesting" fastropes every 12 hours. It is practically a meme now.

Fastropes cannot be done. Every possible idea has been tried with no avail.

the engine cant move 2 objects at the same velocity, one of the two will be damaged (because its not really moving, and will crash into the other, its still) thats why you have to press E to get in a fixed position, if not in a fixed position you just stay still in your place and the veicule moves and you get smashed by a veicule part.

ok i understand now, wow thats going to be a hard one to over come, good luck with that one PR guys. and im guessing from what ive seen in previous forums this is going to be locked now.

Hehe, fastropes are by far the number 1 most (re)suggested thing :D

Don't worry, though, if and when pr changes engines, it may get fastropes abilities, but even at that, it'll be the longest running joke on the forum (aside from Rhin0's e-peenor) :p

awqs, i do hope u understand fast ropes will never be in PR right? Just so were clear on that, lol.

Also, pistols were removed from pilots because they would get shot down and jump out, and then instead of running for cover, get an extract, or running to base, he would take his pistol out and become and UBER soldier in the battlefield.

We dont want that in PR.

You are allowed to disagree, but it has been discussed to death.

Not as much as fast ropes, (Im still chuckling at the resuggestion of fastropes here, lol).

That's correct, but we're glad that you enjoy the mod. Just use the search function and the "Already Suggested" thread stuck at the top of this forum before you make suggestions in the future. :)
