If posible make any attack choper pilot gunns disabled untill there is a gunner inside, so there will be less solo attack chopers ;)

The man has a point, I think it would be army protocol to never go on an attack run without a gunner, maybe just disable thrust until a gunner is present?

Although what would happen if the gunner got suddenly disconnected during a flight? If this can be solved someway i much agree with the idea

I haven“t seen a solo chopper for absolutely ages.

But I guess it could solve it, although you do know the pilot can basically operate all the weapons without a gunner in real life. They always do have a gunner for obvious reasons though. :p

Reduce the max thrust on it to hover thrust if no gunner is present. Lets the pilot land safely if there's a disconnect, but doesn't allow soloing.

Well if you lost your gunner in the middle of a fairly hot area the last thing you wanna impair your team with is making your chopper fly a 30 mph back to base. Good idea though, like Alex said, I haven't seen it happen in ages however.

yea i kinda like the idea no gunner then you just cant simply take off, but this complicates a lot of other problems for choppers, like trans or lil bird att choppers.

i have suggested in the past to make armor immobile without a gunner, and everyone always say the same thing you said " what if the gunner disconnects?" but in the case of choppers, this suggestion is good because instead of becoming immobile {which would result in a crash}it just disables the hydras but you can still fly. what this means is on the offchance your gunner disconnects, you can fly back to the base to get a new gunner or do something else.

I like this suggestion alot actually. And lets not forget just because we arent seeing alot of solo helicoptering going on right now, doesnt mean its not gonna become a problem again when new versions come out and we get the noob mob.

also i think its best to apply this only to gunships, as their only role is to attack. little birds and transport choppers should operate as they do now as their main function is to transport troops.

its a really good idea....but kinda unnecessary like people said before..i have never seen a single seated chopper...although i think i was shot out of the chopper by another enemy chopper before

It's not necessary, and would be more annoying then helpful. What if you have to pick up your gunner at main? Same thing if your in a tank, your driver jumps to the .50 cal on top and gets shot, your pretty much screwed.

Leave it how it is, again, it'll be more annoying then helpful.

Removing the flares would just be silly, seems sensible to keep the defensive air-to-air missiles though, I'd like to think there'd be very few people stupid enough to take a chopper just for those...

Well, they do make for awesome Anti infantry weapons :)

I don't mind the idea if it's codable, but I've never seen it to be a problem. I'd much rather see something done to stop TKing for the asset, something like when you TK, not only do you get killed for picking up the person's kit, you can't hop into a new vehicle.

If a person is one manning a Attk Chopper, they will be flamed at anyway by the rest of the team...then everyone just finds another server

yeah, and if the gunner gets disconnected, suddenly the bird is defenseless

Unfortunately this still happens, especially if you are priming a server with few people and a newer player hops on and sees the cobra sitting there on Muttrah. Even if he gets bitched out, he still does 'attack' runs and usually shot down...

I support this idea as much as I have supported the anti solo tanking scripts. It will keep nimrods away from valuable assets that they have no business 'faffing about' in.
