Is it just me or has the last 2 weeks seen a huge rise in smacktard behaviour on servers?
I have been struggling to find a good server recently. UKWF, Tactics and teamwork and 10th community servers seem to be full of idiots who insist on sitting in the main base waiting for attack helos/jets to come, having smoke grenade wars, tking and no mic squad leading. Infact the worse is I can't fly but i will fly, they seem to be quite frequent.

Any ideas where i can go to find a good server?

I bet it's from the editor's choice thing. I saw a lot of people on that forum talking about how they were going to try it out now. The BS will pass I am sure of it.

Virginia RRF server has no smacktards. Admins take care of the smacktards.

Also, it's also possible that if EA still hasn't taken down the PR Advertisement, don't get me wrong, it's good, but I think we will have to just help these new people out.

There are lots of Newbies, yeah, and they should be helped out but that doesn't help the number of n00bs that just want to pwn with the awesome PR assets. There are lots of people that've seen the advert on vBF2 and think this game can be played in the same manner.

All these smacktards will get frustrated that they can't pwn without using teamwork and will hopefully get bored with the lack of an arcade style of gameplay.

Simple solution to smacktards. Help those who want it, kill those who want not.

Shouldn't be too many idiots on T&T, we admin a hell of a lot - when we're not being hacked that is...

-The reason why there's an odd proportion of n00bs right now is because of three things happening within the space of 1 1/2 month:

PR 0.85 release
PR being advertised in Battlefield 2
PR winning the Editor's Choice for best multiplayer mod

-New release attracts the regular n00b quota, BF2 ad attracts the OMGBUNNYHOPSPAMFESTBBQ n00bs, Moddb win attracts the OMGWUTMULTIPLAYORZGAEMCANBEBETURTHN*RANDOM DEATHMATCH SPAMFEST GAME/MOD* n00bs. This series of events triggers a:

I for one welcome the influx. Sure, there's some rotten apples in the group, but there's always those people who want to learn the game and build up the community even more

I agree. Every new player, no matter how inexperienced, can develop to be a great teamplayer. The only problem is when there are so many newcomers that it becomes hard to handle them all at once. I don't mind teaching one or two players in my squad the ropes, but when 4 people are in it and have no clue what to do, I usually get over whelmed

There like with all things in life are your Positives and Negatives. Perhaps if we can advertise in future that this is a MoD for a more Professional Gamer. Gamers wishing not to follow basic server rules (which ensure we all have a great time) should avoid this MoD at all costs. I am made up that PR has won this award as it genuinely deserves it. Although I would be lying if I were not to mention that I am also concerned that it might result in Player Quality becoming Diluted.

ive seen a recent influx of opportunist noobs. Those who , even though they are an infantry squad , spawn at main and take a vehicle just because its there.

Admins just have to keep their pimp hand hard. And squadleaders. Kick for no mic.

Join/Create a squad named VOIP ENG, kick retards with no mics, problem solved.

Actually it's pretty easy to dominate without using teamwork. Alls you need is a decent asset or to get a grenade launcher kit and find a roof. Take a landy for the ammo box and you can easily rack up 20 kills moving around after every 5 or so since people in this mod can't aim and insist on sticking within a few metres of eachother like it helps...

Not to mention sniping...

Map permitting it's not unimaginable for 1 person to regularly own a squad repeatedly. 6 people running about making bases and driving trucks is easily seen and taken out, where as 1 person in a decent position...

I love n00bs.

Probably because they realise if they dont do what I tell them too they'll get a kicking.

Find it far easier to take fresh players tell them what job they're gonna do, how I want it done, what formation I want them in etc.

tend to find n00bs will follow instructions to the letter rather than thinking for themselves.

Yea the only thing we need to do is mold and fold them in to the right player. Was on the training server this evening before my regular game and than people asked questions on wich a few people replied with jokes and stuff like: U newb you dont know how it works. Thankfully it was on the T&T server so I could at least set them straight to help new people out.

Im happy with all the attention and new players. More players is more servers filled up

We try to keep the UKWF server clear of the people you refer to but if you have any problems please call for an admin in Global chat and if none are in game (90% of time they are) then one can be called to help try and clear up the server.

Noobs are not the problem, a bunch of hackers are attacking the servers now =(
