Too easy to get shot out of Big Red?

Has anybody else noticed that recently it has been WAY too easy to die while sitting in Big Red?

Its slower, and has no shift turbo bust i think. But what has me crapped out is that the second i pull out of a corner with big red, an di need to reach abotu 20 meters ahead before detonation, a squad of 3 ppl can shoot me out within about 3-4 shots.

Its kinda halarious at times, because it took actually 3 insurgents to move big red one round before its first detonation, everybody just got shot out of it like crazy, lol.

Mind you that i understand if armor shoots it should have a damn good probability of shooting out the driver and i by no means think that its unfair or anything like that, i generally approve.

Its fine... in fact, it takes a lot of rounds if you don't aim for the driver...

But in real life you could duck behind the dash. Bullet aint gonna go through a whole semi truck engine.

But you couldnt see where you're driving. And if someone would be on the side of you, they'd only need to shoot at the door a few times and you'd probably be dead too. I think its fair enough - it's a civilian vehicle, not an armored military one, and you should feel that.

(Plus, they could hit the wheels, making you crash, in real life. And if they hit the engine block, you'd not be driving much longer anymore too.)

Who says they couldn't put a steel plate infront of the engine? And how would you shoot thought the door if you are infront of them?

I meant that if one guy happened to be on the side.

And even if they'd do some MacGyvering, the wheels for example would still be unprotected, you'd still drive blind etc.

And I think the big red is still considered scary.

On mythbusters they were shooting 12 gauge slugs at semi wheel tires and it had virtually no effect. So you can't say that about the wheels. The doors could be a weak spot though

Police specialists said that gun rounds rarely go through a car that has some steel type of body, some bullets go through some dont, so on a truck like that id say they mostly dont go through. But hell i dont know, it used to be a bit safer to drive big red, if i got shot out it was because there were 9 ppl shooting at me in the drivers seat and i completely understood that.

Now all it takes is one guy to shoot me and bam, its virtually no fear factor, lol. I mean, it still is since it is a big bomb truck and all, lol. But they made it hella slower i think. i remember being able to actually get somewhere, now it seems im driving a truck with cargo attached to the back of it. (Ignoring the fact that theres a bomb there)

Its good as it is IMO... I see big red as an "ambush" vehicle You wait in a street, friend tells if APC is coming, you pull out few meters infront of him, slow reflexes and BANG! both of you are gone.

The only time I've seen people get shot out are if it's by an HMG, such as on a Humvee, or from very close. Both times I've seen the driver get shot, he had enough time to blow the thing right by us, there and then, and we'd all have been blown back to the stone age. But instead the driver decides to temp getting right up and personal, where they are at the greatest risk. This is how close they got before dying, lots of time to kill us:

You might not see it because of the angle, but it was fender to fender with the Humvee, who didn't see it till it rounded the corner. We only got it because the infantry saw it crossing the bridge already before hand.
