Air Vs Air maps

A couple of maps where its a great many air assets vs another air asset team would be beneficial for several reasons

1) unique gameplay dynamics

2) fun

3) N00b pilots would be caught in the gravitational fields of these servers

Reason the old training servers were so much fun, you could have decent dogfights and practice also.

I'd love this. Would it be possible to finish a (mainly water filled) 8x8 km map though for it? Say... like the Wake Island map that was once being worked on?

Would also need to have larger view distances :mrgreen:

Would be cool if there was an air superiority gamemode, something pretty much bombing stuff and stopping stuff from being bombed orientated. Obviously they'd have to be pretty big (are 6x6/8x8 maps possible) maps and have a reasonably low number of players going for them.

I wonder if there would be a way of making it so u win when all the jets are destroyed...whoever has suviving jets/helos = winner at the end

then again that might take a while

i think this is kind of a cool idea but what would the objective be? i dont think you will be able to capture any points if your in a jet going 500 miles an hour. likewise, if it just becomes a slugfest to run the other teams tickets out then i think it would end being kinda boring after a while

It'd be interesting to get maybe half the team in the air, and the other setting up Anti-air emplacements with infantry or something. Perhaps an 8x8 island riddled map with opportunity for infantry to get helicopter rides and set up FOBs and AAs. I don't think Air vs Air should be the only focus, but the main focus with secondary objectives as well.
