lol, personally, naval battle would be cool, good to see some1 still has the old BF1942 spirit xD. I remember the BF2: AIX mod had a map with just water and there were small island bases you needed to capture. That map had a ton of dogfights.
Hey! i just had an idea, if you did use Subs, you could maybe use the GLTD and have a sub launch a missile or something like that, like use a sub or ship for an area attack. Idk im just rambling now...

Difference between Air to air battles and Sea battles is:
We have completely coded and modeled air assets, we have no sea assets modeled or coded (unless you count the RHIB or Motherdear's tiny fishing boat as sea vessels worthy of this game mode, Essex and Smeg's carriers don't count, cuz they're statics

)

The problem is, please feel free to tell me how misinformed this might be, is that naval battles are probably pretty dull affairs that are conducted over very long ranges. Bill Bailey had an interesting piece in one of his standup routines about the Falklands war, and how the Brit ships would anchor with just enough range for our missiles to hit the Argentine ships, but a few miles out of range of theirs; comparing it to having a fight with a midget and holding them at arms length
Battleships have as far as I'm aware being retired from pretty much every navy on the planet, so there's not really any big guns involved in naval warfare anymore either, although I seem to remember reading something about some guy in the US navy wanting to recommission a battleship or two for indirect fire support when there was no anti-shipping threat. Could be making that up though...
If you like naval battles though I heavily recommend trying a game called "Battlestations Midway" really cool game with navy/navy aircraft warfare.

this has been suggested a million times already,
the maps in PR are nowhere near big enough for realistic naval battles. not even close.

ye, like mentioned before a modern sea battle relys so much on technology and air power these days more than anything else, and its fought over 100s of miles of water, we wouldn't be able to get our maps big enough to even justify making any attempt at a realistic sea battle and all it would be is firing a missile off into the fog and hoping it hits its target really. Only decent/fun bit of it would be the aircraft it done well, but ye, even that isn't much of a option tbh.
If you want sea battles, go play BF1942 or the Battleships mod for BF2, or the Battlefield Pirates 2 mod for BF2 which both have awesome sea battles!

Did it get locked too?

Sorry Guacy, but naval warfare has been suggested a bunch of times before, and as Rhino explained it doesn't stand much of a chance of finding it's way into PR.
Locking for re-suggestion.
