So, since my last project became obsolete, I thought I might continue to attempt to contribute to PR through modeling. This is the first time I've attempted to model a vehicle, as you can see it's still very much WIP.
im sorry, but that video is, bloody hilarious!!! its no wonder the westerners slag the japanese for having crazy TV!
"HOPPY CHOISE!!!"
back on topic, i have always found the civi cars to be the one thing on insurgent maps that bring down the realism factor. the cars, even if they are bangers over in IRaq still have a realistic schene, and besides the arabs have been driving mercs for years and like posted above, drive pretty average style Jeeps and 4X4s. they really need to be scrapped and replaced with realistic ones. ones that you might imagine driving down your own street. not vetec plastic pedal go-karts. actual cars.
Even if you make a fantastic model of the Toyota Sprinter Carib, its gonna look ****, because the car actually does look **** in RL. In fact it looks just as bad as many of the cars you want to replace in PR - maybe Toyota were trying to keep the polys down
The old Mercs are pretty common in many places where PR is set - theyre built like tanks, and can travel fast over rough terrain. Not only that - it would add a bit of bling to PR!
If not then maybe something like this, which is very common in Iraq/Afghanistan etc:
Why would they? No one asks for armoured bomb cars or technicals.
I want new civi cars, because the existing ones look ****, and dont seem to be based on a real life vehicle - I dont care if they keep the existing armour level - in fact Id prefer it for realism.
Every other faction has perfectly modelled vehicles, and the slightest inaccuracy would be cried over endlessly. Meanwhile the insurgents drive round in a red box, with bad textures and terrible physics.
The bomb truck isnt very realistic either - I would much rather see a logistics truck reskinned with some kind of bright colours and commercial markings on it - it would be much more realistic than having a massive shiny red US truck with a 500 bomb hanging off the back of it - we would also be able to drive it off road then as well.
( I do like the insurgent technical and the bike model is nice too, but I wont comment on the bike physics :tired
Actually one thing that would be nice is more static cars for parking lots. So even if it was not drivable it would be very useful. I multiple colors too
