Who is Playing

Who is really playing? I have searched for players in game and the most I have seen is 12 or so... on all PR servers. We are paying big money to host PR on two servers, were starting to think its a waist. I only have a 1/4 vote and when the other 3 see that only a handful of people are playing... well you know the rest of the story. It doesn't help when mod offers no support in the way of marketing or community public relations. Please help I would like to keep the servers playing PR. So my suggestion would be "Do some Marketing". Educate your community, stop others from saying to everyone "you're a nube". Most people who play this mod have never been in the millitary nor care for a simulator, they just would like to have fun. Please don't think Im starting a flame... just a simple suggestion.

More people will flock to the 0.3 release. Trust me, they'll come in by the hundreds.

Here's the current player pattern for PR. Definitely much more than 12, but also definitely not using the current server pool sufficiently. But as Katarn says, the next release should easily change that.

Hmm. I know we have a Publicity Team (R-PUBS). If you have suggestions, I would encourage you to either email or PM [R-DEV]Happy on these forums (IC of the R-PUBs) with any suggestions you may have :)

Does this count for the tournament playing, If so, were in trouble. If you don't market a release no one knows about it. Hope the .3mmpr helps.

The Wolf Pirate Ninja Clan has a server that runs PR. I think I have seen Ghosty in our server a time or two. All of our info can be found at http://www.wolfpirateninja.com We have a TS channel as well. I have found that all it takes is for two people to get in our server and within 10 minutes or so, you have a decent 8 vs 8 or 12 vs 12 game. Happened yesterday afternoon as a matter of fact.

The only negative that PR is facing in the near term is the release of Armored Fury. BF2's newest booster pack. People bored with vBF2 can pick AF up for $10.00 USD and play something new. The diehard PR folks will still be around, but the folks on the fence might see what AF brings.

I do hope that the 1.3 patch coming out ahead of AF won't screw up PR. There are a lot of folks that will patch and won't play PR if 1.3 is not compatible with PR. Un-applying and re-applying a patch just to play can be cumbersome. Many people still play both PR and BF2.

Thing is, alot of players are waiting for full-time releases. The fact that its a "mini-mod" turns heads the other way. By 1.0 I'd happen to no doubt think that there will be a constant flow of players comming in and out. However every game and mod will always have a long list of 0 players on a server. I personally play on servers where I'll get below 100 ping and a decent amount of players.

I am in California, and I can only play late night...and at the most there are usually 1-5 players on all PR servers. Single player is fun, but it doesn't satisfy that online need....I still have to play vanilla if I want to play online. So all those "peaks and valleys" on that server tracker are consistant at the same time everyday. I sure hope the next patch, or full version, or whatever, brings A LOT more players.

Im in western canada, and it seems theres only a few players on during the prime gaming hours. Ill check GH and their will be 16 people or so around 8-9pm my time, then it drops to like 12. I get sick of loading it up to find barely anyone playing. Plus im waiting for .3 to drop. I hope 1.0 comes out before other games take away the playerbase. Its also too bad the bf2 engine seems to not be able to do anything good.
