Update servers to latest punkbuster so that those of us using Windows 7 beta can actually play

I can play on a lot of BF2 servers but i get windows api not vaild or something with like every PR server I try to play on.

Maybe I missed a good server to play on,anyone here running a server or anyone know of one that will accept windows 7 as a valid gaming platform?

Simple answer Dont use Windows 7, easy

I wasn't blaming anyone. Was just asking if they see this to please update their servers to a newer version...it is not hard and takes all of 5 mins and they should get updated from time to time anyways.

Windows 7 beta is a very viable OS at this point even tho it is a beta. With RC1 right around the corner ton's and ton's of people will be using it.

Iirc, PB said they would not support windows 7 until full release, did this change then?

yea that's what they said but they must be adding some kind of support if quite a bit of BF2 servers work and alot of COD WaW servers also work.

Unless it's something they did by accident but who knows,another **** company that waits till the last minute to try and support something...this way when windows 7 is released you still won't be able to play garbage punkbuster protected games until months after.

Incorrect, their is no support nor does it install or update on windows 7. You are probably getting away with it on BF2 as the server isnt running PB or something


Their is no gain for anyone to update their software to accomodate a BETA os...


Also, PB server files update themselves automatically quite a lot anyway, and the API you speak of is a client error not a server error, meaning you havent got PB installed correctly

There is still a time limit on the windows 7 beta so you have to "buy" it anyways after so long the time limit will run out long before the official release.

So how can i have pb installed wrong when pbsetup.exe updates Cod 4,cod waw,and BF2 correctly and changes the versions and I am able to play on "most" punkbuster servers? On BF2 especially I only have Ranked servers and punkbuster option checked which makes it all that comes up. I get no non ranked and if i stop the punk buster services I can't play on anything.
