Coaxial machine guns

So wtf is up with these things anyways? Why do they look supper inaccurate IE tracers flying in all directions when your firing but in actuality the bullets are traveling in a straight line, Most of the time if you are an experienced PR playing you can compensate for this by figuring out just were the bullets are hitting using your HUD, but 90% of the time when someone is gunning for me I see them shooting tracers and they are not even hitting anywhere near anything and it just pisses me off. I don't understand why you can't just make the gun more inaccurate instead of making it only LOOK inaccurate to the gunner only while driver, anyone else sees the bullets are only traveling in a straight line. WHY?! WHY WHYYYYYYYYYYy?! :x

Maybe you haven't played PR at all because they actually shoot in a straight line (IN GAME) but LOOK like they are not (Only to the gunners view). That is why I am asking what is up.

nice try troll.

The bullets hit where the gunner sees them hit...
Its just a bug that everyone see the laser thingy....

I.E. they dont fly in a straight line but it looks like it to everyone except for the gunner....

Actually I can confirm from testing it out that the bullets DO hit in a straight line trust me I have wracked up tons of kills with that thing in my time been playing PR for along time and the coaxs have never changed except the tracers looking like they are flying all over the place but are actually not. Go try it out for your self if you don't believe me.

Although I know what you mean about the driver not being able to see were it hits with the main cannon sometimes when the gunner sees the round hitting the driver just sees it fly past.

Wierd...
I ussually act as the driver in vehicles and i often see people die way of where the tracers are hitting...

not saying your wrong, but thats my personal experience.... might be wrong.....

You ninja edited you post! HAX! ^^

Anyway i hope a DEV can clear this out

Yup the coax Is deadly accurate if you can get around the tracers not being properly displayed for the gunner imagine a fully automatic sniper rifle.

I think the issue it that the gunsight relates to the main gun, and the coax mg's placing it obviously slightly different relative to the main gun, so the bullets fire down and to the right i think?

Well 3 things:

1) They have deviation, so I can be 99% sure they do not fire in a straight line (lazor style).

2) The tracers is not every round iirc, so there are rounds impacting that you arent seeing.

3) Have you fired one in real life? I can imagine them being much more accurate yes, but meh, what do I know.

Other players see them firing in a straight line because, for some reason, the deviation on them doesn't get networked properly.

Ok I think everyone is confused so I will clear some stuff up, I am not talking about real life I am talking about the fact that the gunner sees tracers going all over but really they are going in a straight accurate line.

I know how to shoot the coax on the tank/apc I have been doing it for along time I am simply asking why does it look like its inaccurate when it is not accurate.

For a short answer : The tracers don't go were the bullets go making it hard to shoot for new players.

Btw I can fire the thing fine my self because after playing for so long I know were the bullets impact by the sights instead of watching the tracers. An easy way for new players to learn how to use it would be to practice on solders standing still from a distance fire using the cross hair try different places until you find were the bullets are killing them.

No, it's the other way around mate. The bullets are going exactly where the gunner sees them go. Other players see them going in a straight line because the deviation of the bullets isn't being networked.

I beg to differ, we can go hop on a training server right now and I can show you.

Nick.

That [R-DEV] tag infront of his name.. pretty much trumps whatever "testing" you've done. I'd fold before you make yourself look like a fool anymore.

That has to be the most asinine comment I have ever read.

Go hop in the game right now have someone stand in the distance and shoot at them don't move the turret at all he will see all the bullets going into the same spot.

The testing I have done is the amount of time I have been playing this mod since it was a mini mod. I know how the damn gun shoots but if you want to just say retarded things and not believe me go right ahead buddy.

tracers travel at 75% of the velocity of the non tracer rounds therefore the range will naturally be shorter for those bullets.

So that would mean that all the rounds except the tracers are going straight in the gunners eyes, but the way the driver see's it is the correct path of the bullets.
