Bricks

Alright, this is probably the most pointless suggestion ever but...
Personally, I think Civilians should be given Bricks instead of Stones. I mean, since when did stones that big kill people (*Waits for a thousand people to rush off to find an example*).
I think it would probably make more sense if they were bricks anyway...
So to put it simpily, I think Civilian stones should be replaced with Bricks.
Meh.

no, i think more common to find stones/pieces of bricks in a bombed out city than an entire brick, right?

Give the civilian a backpack to carry all his stuff it would also make it easier to distinguish civis from enemy's. I mean were the hell is the civi pulling all this **** out from anyways his pants pockets?

Why stop there? Civilians should be able to throw everything they are wearing (yes pants).

Hmm, There should be random items you can pick up off the ground, Just like in real life, Civilians use any object they can get to harass soldiers..
Like:
- Bricks
- Rocks
- Sticks
- Shoes
- Etc etc

It's possible, but is it feasible? Don't get me wrong, it'd be pretty immersive if I could pick up the small red boxes in the dirt and chuck it at any passing Land Rovers in-game.
Picking up little things like rocks and bricks on the map can be done. The kit "bag" has to be the model of the rock. The single rock "kit" would be placed on the map like the RPG, SA-7 and Sniper kits on Insurgent maps where it'd make sense.
Player can walk up to rock. Press 'G'. Now you pick up the small rock, but you leave your kit behind. A person could keep his weapon and gear on him, while collecting a small rock for personal use, but sadly, it's all or nothing when changing kits with the BF2 engine.
Also, people trying to pick up another kit may get a surprise lone rock instead of a much needed Medic kit if the two kit bags are close enough.
These small rock and brick environ "kits" would also serve to increase the amount of networkable objects, something already stretched due to the limitation of networkable objects on maps.
Those are only some of the issues I can see with making the environment work for the player as a weapon. It's a little shame, but what can ya do?
We can make do with the tools we have. Speaking of tools, I always thought having a pitchfork, pickaxe or sledgehammer tool kit around the map would be neat.

Sounds like a whole lot of nothing for a whole lot of nothing.
Make a model? Sticks and bricks are nice, but they're very low priority IMO. And that whole ''pickup objects on the ground'' is just waaaaay too much for a whole lot of nuthingness.
