A question about Medics

I have read the manual - perhaps I have missed this, though I could not see it.

Medics have got me stumped. As far as I can see, there is the medics bag just like in vanilla, for healing up team mates or yourself, when fire is held down and the field dressing, which I have used as a regular infantry.

However I tried out medic, and an epi-pen was thrown into the fray.. along with the CPR resuscitation hand position.

Now i'm confused.. four tools! Which do you use in what situations?

Medkit - Use it to restore your allies health.

Resuscitation - Use it to make the corpse 'jump' (Ragdoll), this is used when the body gets stuck (Glitches) in the terrain making it impossible to revive them.

Epipen - Basicly remodeled defibrilators. Use them to revive like you would in Vanilla.

med bag--> heal mates or yourselve (while aiming at your feet)
dressing--> fast fix, when you have little time as medic.
resusitation--> if epipen does not work, resucitate and then use epipen again, also when a wounded guy (laying on the ground) has part of his body glitched on a world's object you can un-tongle it with it.

epipen--> same as desfribilator on vanilla

If you want to heal your self with your bag you have look straight up hold down the mouse button and than bring your mouse down to your feet and you will see a + come up in the corner, you have to hold the button down to heal your teammates.

Alternatively you can lay down and look straight up to heal your self. If you are reviving people who are downed and are still under fire pop smoke drop 2 field dressings on there body and than revive them so they won't get killed instantly.

Resuscitation-3 or 4 times with hands
Epipen-stab him in his chest until he pops up
Medic bag-Hold it on the body until zipper sound stops

Dont see why you would need patches if your medic...

You can drop them before you revive someone in a fire fight so they will be instantly healed and you would not have to sit still for 30 seconds to heal them.

Yep, didnt think about that.If your getting shot at and its to hot to heal, throw him patches while you run to a safer location.

I'm not 100% certain about this, but using the patches may be faster than the bag, for those really desperate moments.

It is faster you can drop 4 and they should be fully healed and they are picked up instantly while the bag slowly heals you.

I'm not 100% sure again...but I think you can only place 1 field dressing at a time to prevent vbf2 medic pack spam preparation at barracades.

No you cant, you can only place 1 at a time. If you place 2 one disappears

In prior patches, you could place more than 1. I'll check the game files to see how many you can place at a time in .85. :)

Update: Oh yes, it's only 1. I checked each file for the field dressing in the client.

Well the patches are usefull when you got several casualtys and you are in the need for some squad members fast! You just eppi them all, give 2 a patch and start healing the 3rd. This way the other 2 have got a slightly more vision than the black and white so they can help you fire at close targets that try to knife the medic.

Or when theres so much fire on a street with 3 downed men. When theres a sudden stop its best to get them all up. You dont know when the fire starts again. But you cant heal them all at the same time. So just drop a patch.

Also: I want to state what I always state in medic help topics: Use the hands always before using eppi.

This has the added benefit of not only giving them a quick almost instant health boost when revived, but ALSO would replace the need to use CPR on them before the revive since the bandage should bump them up from the ground.

Thats useful for a very fast revive and heal...
