Whenever I try to use the incinary(spelling?) grenade at let's say a weapons cache, I often overshoot, making it land too far away to destroy the cache.

Is there a way to just drop it? making it fall straight down instead of throwing it?

Do you have any tips or techniques to make it more accurate and land straight on the chache?

Just tap right click, or secondary fire (variable power throw). This drops the grenade at your feet.

then run
