In the battletalk 3 they talked about ea killing ranking for mods. What do you guys think about this? Will pr make a hack to get this back.

I hope ea kills it.

Scarface, that isn't very considerate when you see how much work Satcom has put into ABR.

Well with the totally revamped scoring system for .3, does ABR even apply anymore?

Presumably the rank requirements will be upped to compensate.

I honestly dont believe that is the intention of ea with the changes to 1.3 I do not think that it will do anything to ABR.

Yeah, I thought the EA thing was to prevent servers abusing their OFFICIAL ranking system.

Other than telling who did well for that particular round, I think stats/ranks/scoring should just stay with BF2. It has been proven (over and over) that stat hungry players are the root of 99.99% of all tardism encountered ingame. Why invite those players in? Isn't that one reason we all have backed off of BF2 in the first place?

That is what I believe they are talking about
they can care less about the mod ranking systems as they have no effect on Vbf2 whiny 12 year olds and their precious unlocks.

I am a stat hungry player but you will never see me Vehicle Whoring or spawn camping.

I always strive for first place in a round and I like to see how I have done overall and all my efforts.

Personally, ABR or no ABR, it doesn't matter to me.

I end up being last no matter what. :D

Stats influence game play in a negative way imo. People think stats are a way to show how l337 they are, which can be true but its still pointless for gameplay.

Um..that would be a big NEGATIVE!!...Stat hungry players aren't causing the tardism..Immature people are causing it...I know plenty of guys who love their stats and are perfectly respectable and well rounded players...There are tards playing every game out there, and there always will be..

Stats for me in vBF2 were all about unlocking the weapons. I didn't care about my rank or my medals or my ability to be commander, I just wanted to get my hands on the unlocks. With no unlocks in PRMM, I'm really not interested in my stats, but it's evident some people are. So yep, it doesn't affect me.

Plus the new ranking system rewards team players much much more. This can be seen in the 16 points per capture of a flag. Players that play with good teamwork will do much better than those who play just for the kills. :D

That's my thought on it also. But I feel stats aren't the true mark of a good player either. Stats can be manipulated in the game to come out on top every round. Even though you contribute absolutely nothing to the team, and your team as a whole looses round after round.

The stat system has been manipulated for so long, that you have nothing to compare your own to because stats aren't an accurate portrayal of how good a player is. And everyone has their own idea as to what a "good player" is.

how can stats be manipulated? ABR doesnt record unless there is a certain number of players in a game.

just because your team doesnt win the lame capture the flag part of the game doesnt mean you havent contributed and been the best player with kills or teamwork based actions.
