I had the privilege to use this "beast" on Al Kufrah. I got to say.... This thing is the BEST IFV in the game!
Pros:
* Forty 100mm HEAT rounds is a GREAT tool against infantry in buildings/behind corners etc.
* ATGM(you get eight of these woderful toys) are able to destroy a Bradley with one hit.
* You get 500 30mm rounds. 200 AP(?) and 300 HE(?) GREAT tool against inf and light vehicles.
* 2000 7.62mm PKT coaxial machine gun rounds.
* It looks sexy.
Cons:
* Can be destroyed by a single incendiary grenade.
* 7.62mm PKT coaxial machine gun rounds spread too much on long ranges (I guess it was intended)
Overall this monster is my fav IFV in the game.
P.S. DEV's you made an awesome job! THANK you!

The AGTM will also kill a tank with 1 hit, BMP is better than a tank if you know how to properly crew it

True that. It's great against armor and infantry. It's the ultimate pooning machine in battlefield.

There is one vehicle that is better. The tunguska. If it had its realistic rate of fire, and ability to use the missiles vs ground targets that is.

Tunguska got removed due to the omfghaxpwnzerlol power it had
If you still get it in training mode you can kill a tank so easy. Ah the good ol days of raping everything with it in Kashan

Glad you like the beastly BMP-3. It's sort of Falkun and mine's "baby" ever since the last update. We took on the task of giving it the typical loadout it would have in real life. Thankfully, detailed technical information for every single weapon on the BMP-3 can be found on it's manufacturers website (KBP Industries). They also have bunch of promotional videos floating around the web just in case little Timmy decides to ask his mother for a BMP-3.
note: Incendiary grenades damaging armoured vehicles was not intended. This will be fixed in the next update.
note2: The BMP-3's passenger operated bow mg's will be fixed as well.

Yup, MEC definitely have an edge over everyone with this thing. I love it. Though don't underestimate the 30 mm AP rounds on it. It can shred through all APCs, even Bradleys, within a second or so, and is much more reliable than firing your one-time AT-10 which reloads in 15 seconds, and trying to load to AP in the mean time.
This was evident on Kufra where all our Bradleys got owned, even with some coordination, by the enemy team.

I would just like to say that the BMP-3 is awesome and I love it BUT the ATGMs don't always kill Bradleys in 1 shot. I saw a direct hit on a Bradley's front armour, I assumed I'd killed it and my driver was screaming "switch to AP 30mm!! press 1!!!!!" but I didn't and he killed us with a TOW...
So yeah lesson learned, always make sure you kill an enemy!
And does anyone else feel that Bradley vs BMP-3 feels a bit... IDK, cheap? With both APCs having ATGMs, it's like tank combat but not quite as good... IE 1 shot kills in APC vs APC just feels a bit wrong...
IMO having an APC vs APC autocannon fight is way more fun...but obviously removing the Bradley's TOWs would make the BMP pwn even more on Kufrah.
Stu.

why am i not surprised you didnt mention that the bmp3, like all apcs, can also transport a full squad and provide fire support for them. probably because no one does it, and treats the apcs like light tanks. that really irks me. in my opinion an apc leaving the main without atleast some troops being transported should be looked at like a chopper leaving the main with only a pilot.

I disagree, the reason nobody does it (on Kashan) is because you usually need a dedicated squad simply to play infantry on a map that isn't pleasing to infantry. Little to no cover, of which most is destroyable; enemy air support; and loads of enemy assets make the map hell for most infantrymen. Full-squad based tactics for infantry action is almost always concentrated in the bunkers. While it's possible to transport them in APCs, a well-supported infantry squad's only advantage–Speed to objectives and versatility–are compromised when transporting troops at the pace of these armoured vehicles rather than dropping in with helicopters.
THe only other place to find a BMP-3 is Kufra Oilfields. In a full server, there's nothing you can do but transport the infantry, because there isn't enough transport otherise for a single squad even to wander off on their own. I always see squads being transported in the heavy APCs in Kufra, however the map isn't all too often that played in preference of others. Plus, when you lose your APCs, your team is immediately fucked. I've had a 10 minute game of Kufra, because the Bradleys, the BMP-3's exact counter-part modeled in pr, all get killed for one reason or another: a second's inattentiveness, slight uncoordination, bad tactics, an extremely good opposing team, or w/e. But, once all your transport is down, you team is systematically killed by the overpowering assets faced with nothing but the lightest of vehicles and small groups of infantry.
This isn't to say that I haven't transported squads when given the chance, or I haven't asked for a heavy APC's transportation capabilities. It's simply that the BMP-3 isn't found on many maps, of which 1 is designed as an all-out asset battleground, allowing for specialized infantry, but hating of squads. Lighter APCs are found on other maps with perfect conditions for infantry. But it's not the fact that it's a heavier APC that makes you say that. The Bradley is featured on a map designed for infantry ,with great success in transporting squads: Fallujah. I'm sure if someone gave the MEC a similar type of map, designed around them for once, rather than trying to give the US an interesting playground (which seems to thankfully be decreasing, but don't deny it has and still does happen), they would have their own place to shine in the regards of transporting personnel.

Ahhh... fuck. I think I ended up ranting there
BMP-3s are my (one of) favourite inclusion to pr 0.85. Everything about them is awesome. IT's just too bad I haven't had enough of a chance with them. Will Russia be getting any maps with them on it?

The BMP-3 is an awesome APC, it's perhaps the best I know.
As for the rants ... If you ever see me crewing a BMP-3 during a game, don't hesitate to ask me for transport, I prefer doing something useful rather than risking 10 tickets in pitting a BMP-3 against an M1A2.

The Russians could use this on Fools Road and Koselsk. One of the reason why the guns have such high elevation was to enable the BMP3 work the targets high up in the
mountains (of Afghanistan).
Server side patch please?
This thing is amphibious as well - too bad that neither Kashan nor Kufra have any water.Definitely my favorite ground vehicle in PR.Would love to see it on different maps.

the BMP is awesome, shame its not often fully crewed (bow gunz etc) since on kashan their survivability is quite low.

Cons:
The BMP is a big, black box driving through the desert. It can be seen from afar and is hence easy to kill or easy to hide from.
Really like the bow guns though

I was talking about gunner operating MG, don't know about the passenger MG's though.

* BMP-3 is not an APC, it's an IFV.
* I won't go to hot zone
to get a slap in the face by an infantry squad.
* We won Kufrah, because WE gave support for the infantry while they we're making their way to the flags. All BMP-3's were destroyed, we had only one flag lost, when they spawned, NOBODY were able to destroy us. If we got hit, there was a supply truck near. Thanks to us, inf squads were able to make their way to flags.
* I won't wait 20 mins for an inf squad to spawn. We had FB built so, there was no need to spawn at main.
