sniper spotter and air control

i have been wondering about the lack of these roles. crewman do the role for the drivers and gunners work, and they get points due to this, but there is still no roleplay for air controllers or spotters.

snipers are the most beloved/hated kits in PR imho, when you get a sniper in your squad you mostly kick him because it will slow down your infantry movements and wont give you any advances (you will get a marksman instead) and planes are hard to control with nub SL's that do not know how to laze or with no VOIP with the pilots.

so i found out that there should be some kits that may help acomplish this roles, which are the sniper spotter and the air controller.

both have to be related to the officer kit, able to place rps and give orders, but with some special features.

sniper spotter is a guy who never ever shoots. he will give some defense support to his snipers while checking the ground for posible objectives. he has to give some mobile abilities to them also (rps, grapling hook) and may be able to laze big targets as well (GTLD).

the air controller should be able to move fast, laze targets, and check for AAs so his pilots get locked the fewer times as posible. he should be able to place some markers for them and locate better GTLDs.

what do you think? should these roles be filled in PR?

I like your idea of a spotter but I think you should equip the spotter whit claymores or tripflares so he can defend his and the snipers position. And he should be able to use some of the ability's of the officer place rallypoints put markers on enemy's

About the air controller I don't know if you mean a guy who is in a normale infantry squad and can talk to the pilot's or a guy in a air squad. If you mean he should be in a normal infantry squad he should be able to talk to the air squad but that's hardcoded.

Yeah.. I really love the idea of a air controller.. But i also think that he should be able to "control" the airstrip.. I have never played with jets without caos on the airstrip.. when people are landing and taking off on the same airstrip in the same time..

By your post, I'm assuming you want new kits to fill the roles for Spotters and FACs (Forward Air Controllers), if this is the case:

Spotters are not needed in this game.

Well I love the whole idea of a spotter.

The extra field dressings should be removed from the sniper and added to the spotter kit(The sniper cant get him self stabilized unless having a spotter or medic nearby).

The Spotter should have atleast a rifle of somekind since in RL the chance is 1 in a million that a spotter goes unarmed behind enemy lines. M16 Ironsight?

But tbh do we really need an Spotter kit? When i go sniper my team consists of 3 men. Rifleman Spec, Sniper and an officer. Voila.. So imho it would be cool with a spotter kit but will it contribute and make the gameplay THAT more better?

In my opinion a spotter kit would be the missing key between officer and sniper.
As a sniper you have to be focused, having to do the squad leading yourself takes that away, calling in tanks, checking grids on your map, all of that stuff.

Besides, in a 2 man sniper team, there are no rally points etc.
It would be very useful with a spotter, someone with the equipment of a crewman, with additional things like field dressings, smoke grenades, grappling hook, and the SOFLAM.

Although, there is a problem seeing how it would basically be a rifleman specialist with extra stuff.

Solution:
replace the specialist, theres not alot of incentive for taking the class as it is, most combat is done over longer distances and the Red Dot sight is a major disadvantage over the ACOG.

This has been re-suggested.

Locked mate, but thanks for the suggestion!
