New Game Mode/Skirmish Variation

Proposal: New Game Mode
-Rounds with no respawn - New level of realism
-Smaller if not same size as current skirmish versions
-Flag capture OR killing of entire enemy team wins the game
-Shorter game time to promote action and no "hiding"
CONS
-Patience from players to wait for new round once dead, that's why it would be a quick but intense game.
-Not knowing what's going on in the game once you are dead due to the lack of Source-like player tracking for lack of better description
-Passive game play for the fear of death which would perhaps lead to unfinished uninteresting rounds
WHY?
-Realism level would go up a notch, as well as the game play intensity and tactical planning/maneuvering
-New "Quick" round for short games, which at times are more accessible than you're usual 1-3 hour game
-The intensity would make it an infantry mission with a much higher sense of urgency, leading to hopefully good decision making and awesome shootouts
-I for one would like the change of "rules", just as a change of pace.
I understand why some might think it's unnecessary, as I personally enjoy the game modes as they are right now.
In all honesty it was an idea after playing Kashan skirmish for the 1st time...thing of beauty IMO
Let me know what you guys think, im sure more PROS and CONS will pop up for dicussion

I don't believe it will make realism go up, i think it will just bring out CoD4 style game play.

If there is no respawn, all you have to do is leave the server when you die and join another one.

I agree with your replies, and my hope was that the unique organized tactical gameplay of the PR community (despite the tards) would avoid that scenario with help from the squad VOIP and rally/movemarker interface making it a new experience different from past games.
A good visual tracking of players would help soothe the boredom while dead, but not sure if enough.
As many have said before players are 'coded, so it might be too much work for something so risky.

Map loading will take longer than match (at least, in my case) so it makes no sense...

In regards to the suggestion, a 1 life mode would make the experience more realistic.
However a lot of people would probably be turned off by having to stare at a black screen for a while, and if you allowed spectating then people could cheat as well.
But some people might play it regardless, just like we play PR when most people play arcade games.

One thing that hasn't been discussed and I'd like to add is, beside the gameplay problems, I'd wonder how you would enter this game. And what happens when you die due to a stupid bug for example.
Still too often in this game you lag in stupid moments, bleed to death because you fell 2 meters, lose connection, or have a pilot/driver who crashes into something - or even a teamkiller.
With this game mode, that would be a huge problem, because one single problem like this could wipe out an entire squad on accident and people who die would stare at a black screen for hours.
And also, how would you join the game? If you can spawn while the game is still going, you could exploit it by dis- and re-connecting to the server to live again after being shot. If not, then the game would start with very few people and others could not join until the next round. Of course, if the rounds only take 5 minutes, that wouldnt be too much of a problem - but seriously, are 5 minute rounds more realistic than AAS?

Isn't there also a limit of how many times you can restart the round as in winning/losing, without reloading the map?

Well, this would be good for 16p clan matches, special events and tournaments IMO. Organized games won't suffer from noobery, so they can withstand this type of gamemode.
I don't think this is a bad idea. It just needs some refining. And like I said, it would be a good experience for organized matches, events, etc...
Maybe make it so that after there are only X players, there is a ticket bleed (so i.e, if there are only 2 players alive and 30 of em are waiting as ''dead'', they won't have to wait too long.)
This would also only work with objectives in mind, so 16p maps would be good for a try.
Another idea, would be simply to make the respawn times freeze, and that fixed after each 5min, players that died respawn all at once (simulating a reinforcment arrival). This again would be only for hardcore matches.
(and if you ''disconect-reconnect'', you'll have to wait the next ''reinforcment arrival'' spawn in order to prevent obvious exploits)
Whaddaya think?

Have to agree with Tannhauser. This would be more of a clan/organised match type thing where noobs are not present, and rounds can be started when everyone is onboard. The OP is suggesting an inf only type mode, so there wouldn't be any issues with laggy pilots/drivers etc. My own ideas to make perhaps improve this idea (only for these matches) would be:
-Infinite revive time so people can be picked and continue fighting later if they happened to be hit early OR bring back the after death player follow cam, so people don't get bored.
-Remove AT, HAT, Sniper, AA kits (Inf only, and no snipers hiding miles away)
-Prohibit installations (FBs etc.) but keep foxholes so it has an infantry oriented feel.
