Insurgent kits explode when picked up!

As a realism feature:I've heard that US troops don't mess around with insurgent weapons because they may be rigged to Xplode in their hands. I'm not sure if it's possible to code in explosive kits, but what if certain kits from insurgents are rigged to kill any coliation troops who pick them up?

Seeing as kits only stay on the ground for 30 seconds I doubt the insurgents have time to go up and rig the gun...

This is not possible,reasons under here:
1.Like the man before me said.
2.Are they gonna make a risc shit for US,its not possible for them to calculate the chances and put that into game.

The guns would be pre-rigged, because it's coded in. On a side note, They'd be pre-rigged because the insurgent who's using it knows how to disable the detonator while he's using it, while the coliation troops don't.

EOD had planned something like what you suggested: Someone would pick up a kit (later the idea was changed to trying to get ammo from a box) but the kit (later box) would be explosive. These kits (boxes) would be (squad deployed?) assets however, and not every kit someone drops would cause an explosion.

Uh, I doubt that insurgents have the will, knowledge and money to got trough riggind an AK in a manner that it wouldn't be noticeable. (if somebody slapped a nade on an AK, you'd kind of notice..)
Do youn have any proof of insurgents doing such a thing to their weapons in Iraq, or form talibans doing the same in A-stan? Because I hardly believe they'd go trough the hassle of doing that when they could use explosives better, like for blowing up billion $ worth armored vehicles.

Insurgents have will to blow themselves up in bomb cars, money to buy numerous RPG's and AK-47's, and the knoledge to create IED's and improvised weapons.

the only reason i like this suggestion is it would cut down on the amount of half insurgent-half USMC guys running around making me nearly tk them.

^It's the US with insurgent kits that are the problem -by the time I've managed to identify the guy its *bang* and I'm dead. US guys should not pick up insurgent kits, period.
However, I'm going to say that making the kits explode is not the way to do it. Now if insurgent pickup kits exploded, I think that would be a nice compormise. After all, you don't leave an SA-7/RPG/very large explosive lying around without some sort of protection from Coalition forces seizing and destroying it, do you?

The problem here doesn't lie with the way kits are handled, it's that the USMC put on the towel (for lack of a better word). I have yet to understand why this was necessary.

Sounds pretty unrealistic.. how would you "trigger" an explosive after you died?
And it wouldn't really contribute to gameplay. It'd be pretty lame. The game is pretty stacked towards the insurgents anyway. Near-infinite ammo, powerful weapons, IED's, and infinite tickets.
Tanks and APC's are hella easy to blow up, infinite supply of mines, IED's, rockets, etc.
Coalition bases are hella easy to camp and near impossible to defend against bomb car / Big Red attacks.
20 minute JDAM-on-wheels Big Red, + ~6 suicide bomb cars.
What do coalition get? Body Armor, Scopes, and Armored Vehicles. Plus, a very limited supply of tickets.
But back on topic.. it's a very bad idea. Maybe we should make it so mines aren't as powerful, IED's are a limited kit, and insurgent weapons don't do as much damage to coalition troops.
Think about it, most of these insurgents are untrained civilians with AK's.. =l Maybe less weapon accuracy or somethin?

It's better to spend the money blowing up APCs with 8+ soldiers +3 crewmen in them, then wasting you explosives to kill an idiot that will probably NOT pick up your gun IRL.
It's also much easier to trigger explosives when you're alive, unlike..trapped... guns.. guh.
And seriously, this is just totally unreal. It sounds like a gadget for Dr. Terror's evil henchmen TBH, like Insurgents will care about their guns after they die, heck no they don't give a damn!
Sorry if I sound rude, but this is project reality, unless you have solid proof that Insurgents do that, I doubt this will go anywhere.
