other than using it as a spawn point for all blue guys, what is the point of the fire base...

in reality if there was a 50 cal defending a small area like a firebase?

then surely the guns would always be manned, well at least until that area was cleared, or flag taken..

my point is that, IMO fire bases should be built on flag capture radius, and players should defend their fire bases , as a priority, reather than use it as a spawn point, and then keep moving forward....

when I make a squad, on some maps like muttrah city, I will always have my squad defend the fire bases of the flag we are on, fire bases are more easily taken out now, so they should have more focus on having them defended..

What exactly is the suggestion here? And remember, players are hardcoded, it is up to each individual squad leader to order his squad and tell them what to do

From what I got from that, you want to limit firebase building to flag-capture radius? Thats pointless, and ruins the point of the firebase.

Perfect example: Castle on Muttrah. Perfect defense spot against helicopters and APC's or if the USMC get a hold of it, Perfect defense against APC's.

You can't hold a decent defense there without a firebase.
