New to Project Reality

I have been playing BF2 for some time but am new to project reality so got a load of questions before I try to install it (maybe someone can answer the questions or point me to a link that answers them)
(1)I have BF2 already installed(i think I am updated to patch 1.4, but how can i check this?) with the special forces and other 2 expansion packs, and I dont really want to have to install everything again (the expansions I bought as downloads so everything isnt on the one disk). Will I have to install everything again or can I install PR over the top?
(2)How does it work once I have installed it, do I just start BF2 as normal and then log into BF2 as normal and I can either play the regular BF2 servers or the PR servers as normal?(does it mean I cant play the regular BF2 game/servers once I have installed PR?)
(3)Is it easy to roll back to the regular BF2?

Hi welcome

1 you will not have to reinstall bf2, pr will install onto of it

2 Pr will install itself to a mod folder meaning you can still play Vanilla Bf2 and the addons with no problem, you just start project reality with the shortcut provided and only Pr server show up, or you can start bf2 with shortcut and all of your bf2 servers will be there

3 you wont want to roll back to vanilla bf2

Read the manual and tell your squad leader your new and you will have load of fun

I've been playing all the BF2 series ever since they came out. I haven't played in a long time though unless I ran across the news that you guys updated your Mod and finally won!! 8-) Congratz you guys deserve it!!! I love the Mod but frankly I a bit lost in the single player mode. Need to learn the game all over again. :-D

I also uploaded your Mod to my website to give you another Mirror, no waiting, no speed throttling, no registration needed. 8)

I get some time I will see some of you on the battlefield!

Yeah it wont cause any problems with your installs of vanilla bf2/expansions, you just use your regular BF2 shortcut/expansion shortcuts to play BF2, and you use your project reality shortcut to play PR.

Everybody starts off somewhere when introduced to a new game , and that level of status is usually a "Noob".. You my friend were once a "Noob" who didn't know what the shovel was for or didn't know how to request a kit. Now lets not be rude to our new comers and welcome them.

Welcome to the forums mac , just like everybody else said you wont have to reinstall bf2

Welcome to the forums

I will try to answer your questions.

1. Nope

2. When you install PR it will come with a short cut.

3. As long as you exit PR correctly you should be fine to play BF2.

Dont mind people like this noob.

Welcome mac! The PR install does not affect the BF2 install at all. You can switch between them with no significant issues, except for that auto reload will be disabled when yougo back to regular BF2.
And you'll prolly end up changing your keybinds, which are shared with vBF2; AND it will reset UI customisations, such as changing the colour of the crosshairs in vBF2. And boy I can tell you that irritates the **** out of me, having to constantly reset those to the classic BF42/V "yellow"...

To make sure there is absolutely nothing changed in your vbf2, create a new profile to play PR with.

There is a couple things that PR forces, mainly turning off auto reload, but it doesnt affect anything serious, and you can set it back in vanilla, just suggesting you create a new profile to avoid any potential problems.

Welcome, let us know what you think of the mod (good or bad).

This is unbearably true. At some point you might decide you want to play it. You'll flip out at the mindless idiocy of it really quickly, and ragequit. PR is just that much better than BF2.

I played vBf2 a while ago with a friend and had a good laugh while chasing an enemy jet taking off down the runway in a DPV (whatever those little buggies are called). It felt like some kind of parody of an action movie
