Dive + Sight = No deviation.

So is this just a hardcoded non fixable problem, or what. I mean you can test this for yourself and i am sure its happened plenty to you, but when diving and then looking down the sight of your weapon... the next few shots are pin point.
Changing just this problem alone would add so much to the game. I abuse this myself, and its something that i fall back on quite often now and is a result to more than half of my kills. I feel i am at such a disadvantage while advancing while crouched or slowly and carefully do to the 2.5 second deviation every step. It's such an advantage to just sprint down a street and instantly dive and shoot at a target then advancing like you should.
In a nutshell, its killing my game play. I wish i could clear a building the legit way, but its just better to charge in and prone on full auto and kill everyone inside.

AFAIK Prone diving is hardcoded, attemps have been made from what I've seen / read but no real definitive way to stop prone diving has succeeded.
Its sadly just a limitation of the BF2 engine unless someone finds a workaround ( which is unlikely / very hard to do )
My suggestion, try not prone diving - me personally never played bf2 long enough to prone dive by habit, though from PR I learned to crouch reactively. So if prone diving ever gets "fixed" I wont have a problem

Yep. I was a victim of a prone diving one-shot kill the other night. I had horrific BF2 flashback nightmares that night that haunted me and left me a sleepless wreck the next day.

I heard positive rumours about this problem, THEY are thinking of different solutions to solve the whole dolphine-diving/instaprone-problem.
One suggestion I heard was that one would need to deploy his rifle when going prone (as for prone being defencive stance, while crouch would be like irl, the aggressive stance). This would be a great way to eliminate all the dolphine-diving, I'm all for this solution.
What comes to the rarity of this problem, it happens to me very very often, always in close-quarters, but sometimes they manage to do it in a little bigger distance aswell.
All the best,
Viki

TBH if you think it's noob then don't do it. I have rarely seen this problem, and it's not that big of a deal. Posting a threat about it. and letting the new players to .85 know about this glitch isn't helpful. We should just hush up glitches like these, so their occurrence will remain rare. One day an admin is going to see you use that glitch, and you might ban hammer. In other words, play PR the way it was meant to be played, any other way simply defeats the purpose of this mod. Good day sir

I made a suggestion about weapons having a faster transition from aim to firing, This would solve the problem as you gun would be ready to shoot in close combat at all times and if someone dived you would be able to kill them before they could kill you.
This is the worst part about the game and it completely ruins CQC.

I never hardly ever prone dive I preffere to crouch becaus if the prone diver misses those first few shots hes dead because It much easier to suppress some one lying on the ground opposed to a crouched person because unless your higher than the crouched person their hard to suppresses

But even that is unrealistic, irl you would be able to draw your weapon quick enough to kill the person instead of having to crouch down on your knees to kill a target 10 feet in front of you with a high powered rifle.
And it is allot easier to hit someone when they are standing in the game since when you are laying down you can spin around so quickly its easier to avoid bullets, when your standing or crouching you can't move quick enough to avoid the bullets.

I think it is fine really, If you are in a position where you can see someone prone-dive right infront you should atleast be able to pop off a few shots before they can shoot accurately. I never find this situation arises in pr... if you just do basic things like stick to cover, always crouch when you are moving up from time to time, you should get the first hit, or just go prone yourself and kill them.
