You should use left control, that way you can hold it with the palm of your hand while you move "w a s d" with your fingers...

yeah i the default controls work pretty well if you crouch alot. i crouch all the time but its easy since i use the default controls so all i have to do is put my left pinky on the ctrl button

I use shift to crouch and always have, its just more natural as my pinky normally rest on shift when using the wasd keys.
As to the OP, I have no idea how to toggle crouch.

PS. How do you press a button with the palm of your hand? If I were to press ctrl with that I'd need to remove all my other fingers from my keyboard and move my hand up considerably.

Been suggested many times, unfortunately according to some devs its hard coded and will never be in game.

I know how you feel my pinky finger gets sore after crouching for along time.

Get a G15. You can program one of the million macro buttons to hold down Ctrl as long as you want. I have a button that holds down Left Mouse Button, so I can get a drink while i'm shoveling a firebase.

Wouldn't you just be able to make a macro?

I use Z for crouching if the game has a toggle for it

its all about just getting used to whatever controls you have, using my pinky for left control is just natural for me but for others its a pain in the butt so they change it and get used to whatever they change it to. however, i cant imagine how in the hell you could use your palm to hit any button. it seems like you would just mash half the keys on the keyboard doing that.

I have reassigned all of my keys in PR, as I do in most FPS games because I play with cursor keys - using R-ctrl for crouch. Crouch toggle would be very annoying (to me) because - how do you know when you are in the crouched position or standing? There is no icon in BF2/PR for this. But I guess having the option would be harmless so I shouldn't have bothered posting on this thread :d uh:
