IIRC, there's been a recent PB update, just a few days ago. Try manually updating maybe.

You do realise no matter what god damnit game you play, PB still THE ISSUE of most game !? Ever play America's Army ? It dosent end-up in a PunkBuster Sync before each game for nothing. MD5Queries/Tool, Invalid Packet...ETC...
is not an R-Dev related issue, its all about Even Balance. There always had been issue, pretty sure there will always be issue. No matter what game you play, if it use P.B. it will cause you problems.

Nothing to do but patience, update, reinstall, fight whit it...etc... Some time shit happen no ?
Project Reality worth quite more effort you known'

Hmmm...I don't think I can reinstall every 5 seconds...
Oh wait! Here's an idea! Let's only let PB kick those who a human has confirmed to be hacking!

These forums have nothing to do with PB what so ever, stop being so smug btw since it only takes 2 seconds to update your PB by running the PBupdate file in your PB folder.
And on another note if you were not so raged about the problem you would have probably found out that PB automatically updates it self. I haven't updated my PB since 2008 and I think I have been PB kicked maybe once? So make sure your windows fire wall isn't blocking it. or make sure your not playing a computer repairman and disabling PB when you are not in games because it will kick you if you don't turn it back on manually.
You know there is 1000 problems that it could be so instead of threatening to quit PR because of something that has nothing to do with PR goto the PC help section and post your reasons for being kicked how often etc etc.
Also PB does kick hackers I have seen up to 4 people in a round get PB kicked for hacks. PR would be a **** game without PB because it would be full of hackers so you should respect PB and learn about it more.

Uh...MD5 kick? Handshaking failed? More than hackers get those...a LOT MORE.
New thing added: If I encounter a total idiot.

You have obviously never had to deal with undeserved and repeated PB kicks so I would suggest you keep your flaming to issues to ones in which you have experience, man. It is totally a relevant subject because it deals with one's inability to play PR. It has nothing to do with the devs abilities - it is a reflection of PB and how f*cking shit it is.
PB has also destroyed the game for me - I still play occasionally because I know how to deal with PB (Complete network reboot each and every time you play PR anyone?), but the effort it takes, each time I want to play PR, is only worth it rarely for me these days because I do use my network for stuff and I don't like shutting it down at all.

Obviously if its ruining your game you are either hacking or doing something wrong so why not try to fix the problem instead of saying "F IT F'N PUNKBUSTER!!!", there is nothing wrong with punkbuster if there was no one would be using it. You are right I never had an on going problem with PB because when ever I got kicked I looked up the reason why (try google) and there is always a solution.
Besides I wasn't flaming anyone I am telling him to try to fix his problem instead of saying PB sucks and he is going to quit PR. Computers and software usaully require constant updates as the months and years go by so if you are so irritated about updating stuff etc maybe you need a new hobby. I asked what his problem was but he just said random things in an IDC attitude so if he doesn't care about the problem why should anyone else.

Sorry, not getting into a flame war. I have taken ALL steps suggested to alleviate PB kicks. I know what the problem is. I know how to resolve it. The problem is that PB does not like having to go through my network. To resolve it, I have to take the PC that I play PR on off the network and give it a straight line out to the cloud. I have been playing online games since 1999 (CS 1.0 Retail). I have a degree in network administration. Only games with PB dislike my network. The problem is, and will remain, a Punkbuster one.

Well like I said times change and punk buster is pretty much the only good anti cheat and it will probably be around for along time seeing as how newer games still are including it as there anti cheat system. I don't see why your network won't let PB through unless your firewall was blocking it, but I can say my self I run through a network and PB has never given me any problems that could not be solved without disabling my network.
So what exactly is the PB error you keep getting?

Now we're talking civilly! Good!
Honestly I think its my router (Belkin is shit I realize now - DO NOT BUY BELKIN!). But, regardless, the
only games I cannot play are ones with PB in them.
I have been an FPS (and other genres) online gaming addict for 10 yrs and usually buy a new game once a month on average so think how much gaming experience I have (doesn't mean I'm good at any of them [except CS!] :mrgreen

. So I can categorically say the it is
only games with PB that kick me (ala BF 1942 and BF2).
I get MD5, heartbeat, packet loss - the works. I honestly have tried all measures - deleting the pb folder and reinstalling, using pbsetup.exe + pbsvc.exe, uninstalling BF2 and all mods and reinstalling just BF2 w/PR - same results. But now that I have a new job I will be replacing that router when I get my first paycheck and I will definitely report back the results!
TF6049 - do you use a router?
PS: The only reason that I am so vehemently acknowledging this thread is....check this:

Wow, if PB doesnt like your network try this.. Set your gaming machine up on your network with a static IP, and then set up port forwarding in your router to forward all PB ports to that machine.. Look up the info i have no idea what ports PB uses..

Have a look round the Help And Hardware forums, there is a Punkbuster problem solutions thread.
What i normaly do if the punkbuster gets really bad, is delete my pb folder in the bf2 files, then update punkbuster with pbsetub.exe. Normaly works for me.

This tbqh .... Belkin are a half decent make as it goes i wouldnt blame your router just yet, i had a belkin for a long while before i burnt it out doing silly things. manual updates via pbsetup.exe, PB port forwarding and static IP's for gaming machines 4tw.

Also try using pbsvc.exe to check your punkbuster services are running correctly. Also, there's recently been a new version of pbsetup.exe released; make sure you're using that version to update your client files.
Both can be found at
PunkBuster Online Countermeasures
The number of times someone's told me "I keep getting kicked, NOTHING solves it!" and then they've actually gone away and updated PB properly - and bingo, problem goes... funny that.
