Read over this...Some interesting ideas came up along the way

[20:06] Cpt. Sniper: hmm...maybe just a pre-release buggy thing

[20:06] =[SoR]=Ugly Duck: but even then, people shouldnt be getting blown in the air very often
[20:06] Cpt. Sniper: cause usually you will get thrown to the ground if you have a lot of gear on, if you are shot by a rifle

[20:07] Cpt. Sniper: each of those bullets feels like 300 pounds hitting you and going thru you
[20:07] =[SoR]=Ugly Duck: but like, if a tank shell lands near you, you wont fly up youll get tossed aside
[20:07] Cpt. Sniper: all in a small tiny spot
[20:07] =[SoR]=Ugly Duck: yes that would suck

[20:07] Cpt. Sniper: tank shells should not have that damn smoke behind them when they shoot

[20:09] =[SoR]=Ugly Duck: well I want BF2 explosions to have lots of smoke and dust
[20:09] Cpt. Sniper: thats what the SABOT shell does. you can see it fire, but the problem in DC is the velocity of it is entirely WAY too slow

[20:11] Cpt. Sniper: guided bombs and lock-on missiles will be the big improvements...and CORRECT ANIMATIONS FOR WEAPONS

[20:12] Cpt. Sniper: cause all those damned weapons are reversed except for the M60, RPD, RPG's, and LAW
[20:12] Cpt. Sniper: its the Car15 and the M16 that bothers me

[20:13] =[SoR]=Ugly Duck: is if the RPG guys had to have a guy carry the rockets with him, and give them to the RPG guy as he shot
[20:13] =[SoR]=Ugly Duck: kinda like how in Red Orchestra you give MG'ers ammo
[20:13] Cpt. Sniper: M4 reload procedure:
remove empty magazine
insert new magazine
press the bolt release
tap the foward assist
[20:13] Cpt. Sniper: yeah that would be cool
[20:14] Cpt. Sniper: more realistic, too
[20:14] Cpt. Sniper: I hope you can give your teammates ammo, like bullets..not just explosives
[20:14] Cpt. Sniper: 1 guy is out of ammo, the other guy who has 2x as much ammo gives him 7.62x39 bullets for his AK

[20:15] Cpt. Sniper: but it wont work, say if 1 guy has 5.56x45 and the other guy has an empty AK47...

[20:16] Cpt. Sniper: BF2 is coming with an animation creator, map creator, and some other neat stuff

[20:17] =[SoR]=Ugly Duck: hopefully BF will alow modders to MAKE people arm/reload weapons when people take them out

[20:20] Cpt. Sniper: I think you have to model then create multiple skins that display like a .gif animation
[20:20] Cpt. Sniper: im not entirely sure

Effects arent animations but particles. They dont contain any textures but îts just a code.

Well, a lot of those things WOULD be very benificial to the mod. And most have been implimented in various ways in other games. Wether or not BF2 can make it happen remains to be seen, but I hope it can.

PS: TY archenemy, Ive been wondering how its done for quite some time.

A note on the effects of being hit by rounds, a friend of mine served in Croatia and was shot 7 times point blank by 7.62x39 rounds (GPMG runds, AK's use this round). He lived to tell the tail (48th Highlanders) but I can tell you that there is no impact. When shot, its in an instant and often, the reason an individual drops is simply from the shock of being hit. Even .50 cal rounds have been known to in and out without dropping the target (even with collateral to the target being severe and extensive).

In fact, the only time impact is imminent is when the rounds have been "shotgunned". This means a small x has been filed on the end of the round, causing it to explode rather than tumble when it hits the target. (commonly used by Geurillas and thugs. Its against the Geneva Convention....but since when has people who dont fear it obide by it?

Another common misconception is that coating the round in teflon produces a more extreme result, not true. These are called "Cop Killers" because they are far more likely to penetrate bullet proof or flak vests.

Very intresting ideas all sound great, actualy i have seen the aftereffets of a .50 cal sniper rifle, they shot the iraqi in the neck(his head is missing :lol: )

I thought the only thing teflon did was simply decrease the friction allowing a higher exit velocity from the barrel.

I've been told by a gun plummer (Weapons Technician) that it's meant to decrease friction on the target...

Not solid evidence, just hear-say.
