Being kicked from servers by PB (MD5 mismatch?)

Is anyone else having this problem?
I've only played on the GH server tonight so I don't know if it's effecting all servers,

I've activated PunksBusted on GloryHoundz, which means your installs will be under closer scrutiny to prevent cheating.
Did you by any chance remove the md5 files from your levels?

Nothing has been changed since I played just a few hours ago.

Correct, except that I've installed PunksBusted on the server, which means that your install is being more closely checked to prevent cheating.
Can you please check whether that file is present and if so, paste the contents?

Well, for one, your PB isn't even scanning the right directory. It's looking under bf2 as opposed to pr.
Second, there is no "archive.md5" file under my Levels/Gulf_of_Oman folder.

something has been changed from standard. Fritz, in your opinion would AAS be affecting this regarding the MD5 checksum on the PRMM maps???

I got there problem once, AznLB. Haven't got it since then, though

Yeah, it's happened to me 3 times now...

Well, it is checking the correct directory... It's checking the vanilla bf2 install. That is where the basic BF2 assets are, after all.
The reason it's missing is because you may have deleted it following advice from some forum post? PM me with your MSN.
Gaz, the change is with 99% likelihood on Aznlb's side. AAS is definitely not having an impact, he's getting the problem with vanilla maps, not with PRMM maps.

Well, considering Cerberus, me, slick, and at least one other person have had it, it's not on my end.
Also, if it's scanning the mods/bf2 directory, then anything in the mods/pr directory will get by, which basically renders having it useless.
I'm not naieve enough to go around deleting files via advice from a forum post, then forget about it.

Cerberus hasn't had it recently, at least. Can't find him in the log.
Here's what happened today:

It is on your side, because a regular BF2 install does have those md5 files. Chatting with 2slick4U, he's gonna join you in so we can resolve this.
But yes, it's on your side, you said it yourself, you're missing that file. 2slick4u's problem seems to be slightly different.

I know what my level files looked like since I got the game, and I have never had an "archive.md5" file under a level folder.
Dude, just look in that log excerpt and see how many people your PB is kicking -- you're telling me it's my problem?
Posted: 2006-05-03 03:16
by TheRealFritz
Actually, 5 people. 1 of which got kicked because he changed BF2.exe.
So 4 people out of dozens who have played. Why did you go off MSN? I was going to send you the files over MSN.
Also, check for it under mods/bf2, not in mods/pr in case you were doing that.

there is no Menu_client.zip in the PR install directory anyway

Probaly going to get this as i tried a sound mod eariler. Restored with backup's so probaly somehow not right.
Posted: 2006-05-03 03:43
by TheRealFritz
Well, actually, there is

But it's in C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\menu
Ok, 2slick4u and I have narrowed down his problem... His Menu_client.zip file is 42,147,235 bytes as opposed to the normal 42,150,769 bytes. That's what got him kicked.

Alright, got 2slick4u figured out. He was working on an icon and forgot to back up the zip file he was modifying. He's restoring his Menu_client.zip and should be good to go after that.
AznLB, since you didn't come back online, you'll have to get the individual level archive.md5 files from somebody else.. 2slick4u had them, btw (just fyi).
You can find them in C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\Levels\Dalian_plant\archive.md5 and so forth. Make sure those are all there.
