transport jet - the idea

the idea is for maps like kashan desert and other large maps \ future maps that will have a certain area which is ideal for parachuting \ require paratroopers

for example: the bunkers area in "kashan desert " or other places around,
that are good for paratrooping.

-**"well, yea, thats a nice idea, but arent there choppers for these kind of things? "**

well, yea, but a transport jet is alot faster and less vulnerable than a chopper (that can be shot down from a machine gun \rpg and so).
and will be alot more useful for landing in \ outside a city.

- iam not saying that the tranport jet will completely replace those helis in these maps , i just say that in maps which are also ideal for parachuting, there will be a jet or two that will take the right mission that will be hard to handle with a chopper.

for conclusion: pr is missing this kind of realisitc advanture and it would be absolutely great for everybody to finally have such thing in project reality.

i will add some pics later that demonstrate the whole action in a more easy to understand way.

When you say tranport jets, do you mean something like this?

Because that won't work, the maps are are unfortunately too small for them.

no
i mean something smaller, it doesnt have to be a jet it can be just a small plane or something
like a propellor jet or something

besides, maps can always be edited and be added a new\ or expended runway \ airfield so it will even be possible to add a bigger jet, maybe not like the one in the picture but a medium or a medium large jet.

the plane that i think about right now is the "douglas" for the beginning

well yeah, its not as fast as a jet but it is alot lees vulnerable in maps like kashan desert.

I don't think any of the factions in game use small transport planes, there already is transport helicopters what is wrong with those?

Also the maps are way to small for transport planes at the moment, besides you would not be able to land much of anywhere since you would need a runway to land that is the reason why helicopters were invented to land anywhere.

like i said, a tranport plane is less vulnerable than a chopper that can be shot down by almost anything like a machine gun (both foot , tank, geep or whatever) a tank\apc, rpg, a sniper and so.
besides, jumping off a plane will be awsome in pr.
maybe it cannot be in the game right now, but it will in future maps.

Well in pr no one has a parachute except pilots so that would not work. Propeller planes are usaully made out of thin fabric along with aluminum so they would not be less vulnerable than choppers especially with there slow speeds.

Its a good idea and sounds fun but I don't think its the way PR is going atm.

Afaik the c-130 hercules is made of a titanium alloy of some sort while still being a propeller plane.
But as Zrix said, the pr maps are still far to small and there's a to low player limit so I would give it a no.

yea i understanded that, it may not be for now, but in future maps this idea has a great potential.
and it is still alot less vulnerable than a chopper because of the highet that it flys at.

I'm pretty sure there wont be much maps larger than 4 km, as theres only 1024 squares pr map, no matter if the map is 4km or 8km (meaning that modeling realisting terrain becomes harder/impossible).

Whilst the idea might be fun, IMO you would NOT normally deploy
paratroopers right into the thick of the action.
Perhaps a discreet drop behind enemy lines. But as for into the middle
of a raging battle. I don't think so. It seems like a recipe for a duck hunt.
A bit like the vBF2SF/BF1942 Paradrop spawn points!

IMO it would detract from the game.

The size of runways needed for transport aircraft prohibits their use on PR maps.

i did meant \ think about almost everything you said, only that the tranport jet will be for certain future missions which will require a jet that will drop paratroopers on any safe \ near battle area near the objective.
something with the same idea of what they done in the "d-day" in world war 2
simply: theres an airfield, a bunch of objectives around the map and a jet that takes off from the airfield with troops and drop them near an a difficult to get objective just like in those speacial forces movies whwn they are parachuting right into an area where it is dificult to see them but still near the objective.

iam ensure you that it can be done. not only for future maps but also for a map like kashan desert.
it only needs to be edited to make it happend
it doesnt need to replace the regular version of the map but to be added as a second version

Locking for re-suggestion. Transport planes/parachuting/paratroopers have all been suggested over and over and won't be going into PR.
