The DSHK would be a nice replacement for the 50 cal that the taliban/insurgents use right now.I've seen a couple vids and clips where the taliban use this weapon against there enemys.

Ok, but is it really worth making a new model? Seeing as it would pretty much fit the same role, the only difference would be aesthetic? I mean, it does fire the same round, and pretty much used for the same thing.

I would imagine that this would be a not as high priority as other things, and for that reason, I suggest you start modeling!

Regards.

He is right, the only real difference would be the model and the firing speed would actually be slower than the current INS machine gun which is either the KORD or the NSV can't really tell. Either way they all fire the 12.7x108mm round which would make the change pretty much pointless unless you were interested in a slower fire right, but it would probably be more realistic.

im basically agreeing with the other posters. this weapon would be more appopriate but i think it would only happen if someone modelled it and i think the devs have higher priorties right now.

Ill take a look around the editor.I suggested the DSHK because the taliban and the insurgents are there own factions and had there own weapons.I must ad mit they sound very alike, but it sounds like the DSHK is meatier.Might just be me though.

Mr Popenker tell us that the dushka fires a 12.7x109mm round at 600 RPM linky. He also tells us that the Kord (the HMG currently on insurgent pickups) fires the same round at 650 to 750 RPM lniky.

Now, due to limitation in the BF2 engine it only likes to have guns firing at certain rates (300, 600, 900 & 1200 RPM, IIRC). This means that there would be no difference in the ingame representation of the dushka to the current Kord. Making this an entirely cosmetic change and therefore extremley low priority.

Makes sense, Like I said before I would not even be that much of a difference. especially since those things get so hot nowadays. Well now I know its a KORD and not a NSV.

I know for a fact that [R-DEV]Dr.Rank wants something like this,

For Sangin. Sort of Taliban "Mobile AA" if you will.

so... can the taliban have that? :-D
also...idk if the modle is worth changing... i mean, if one of you or me wants to do it (i dont=P) the devs might put it in, but still, i dont think the devs are going to use the time making an small apperiance size...whene a forum browser can do it=P

Would love to see it ingame if someone cared to model an Opfor weapon :)

Anything to replace those disgusting remnant-of-BF2 weapons.

It would be nice if we could have a heavy duty technical; I've seen photos of some from Africa and they're not all tiny little pickup trucks.

Perhaps the preferred option would be a ZSU-23-2 on a pickup/truck mounted platform instead?
