EFPs and Explosion Detonation

Let me explain,

The ability to detonate a mine, or booby trap, or IED, with another Explosion. Giving us INFINITE possibilities of Daisy Chains, VBIED's, Roadside proximity bombs.

Exemple: Set a few mines with an IED at the end, When a vehicule or convoy comes, detonate IED, and a daisy chain of mine explosion follows if set properly.

Or even better, Set an ied right on a booby trap, if somebody or something steps into the trap, IED goes off.

I dont know if the engine permits it, but it would be nice. That and EFPs :) (Explosion formed projectile, wich is basicly a HEAT/DU round. Sends a plasma warhead out of the IED and goes thru armor like butter.

I don't think it's possible for the game engine to explode bombs by exploding another bomb. You could just put like 5 ieds along the road and if you press the button, they all explode at once.

In vBF2, didn't the tank's cannon destroy land mines, claymores and C4?

I am not 100% positive, but I am pretty sure it didn't. Vehicles driving by claymores tended to detonate them though.

Maybe this was in the demo or 1.0 of vBF2, but I recall many people placing AT mines where infantry would go, and then shoot the mine, causing a killer explosion against infantry.

If it was in the demo, it may have been removed from the final game. But if it was in 1.0, the code may still be about . . . someone with 1.0 installed would be able to check.

I like this idea, and I suppose an explosion would trigger off other IEDs as they can be quite sensitive judging from the care they must be handled with. I hope it's possible, and feasible in the mod. :)

Dunno about that, but if you placed c4 on vehicles, and the vehicle exploded, so did the c4.

There used to be sympathetic explosions in vBF2.

what if its explostion is kinda like the barrels in bf2, if you line them up its almost instant, but you can still see it explodes one after the other?

i for one would love to see this, played demo bf2 alot in 2008 notin there anymore but sypathetic explosions would rule, sdaisy chain not instant megabang style, it may still be hidden in the code, grenades could take out IEDS very cool IED clear and area of traps etc .....
[possibilities except wont this create tactics for insurgents of multiple IEDS destroying whole intersections if an area was heavily IED'D wouldnt that really poiss off all the other ambushers
personally id love to see grenades moved or exploded if shot but that mite be totally unreal

I do know from experience that if you place C4 on a FOB and then drop an inciendiary grenade on it you will get an instant FOB explosion/collapse, leaving you with mortal wounds.

It is a good and extremley fun idea, just i think it could be used to a extremley unrealistic and more hollywood style of game play. Also over powered as then aslong as you can place more mines you can take out anything on your own then and if you have a supply crate may encourage lone wolfing.

I saw that the thread on EFPS was locked on account of a resuggestion. So i guess we'll just use this one. It seems to be a good idea and most of it seems to be modelled. It's nice to have a bit of variety and i think it would be a good idea. So instead of locking for a resuggestion could we carry on the suggestion.

If it's a good idea, why would people lock it?


Also, would land mines be triggered by explosions?
