Crysis & Project Reality Mod

I have seen the suggestion to use the CryEngine 2 in a sticky topic within the suggestion forum so I would like to see some discussion of a PR type mod for Crysis. Personally I think the game is perfect and would suit the mod well. (Besides ArmA2 but that is still a WIP)

Instead of listing the messy details I will highlight some of the features I love about the game.
-The Visuals. This is something that can not be overlooked. Its absolutely stunning be in the middle of a firefight.
-The 'Physics' of the game. I can see it now. Some air support has been called in on a small village. A attack helicopter moves in to completely level the entire area.
-The Day/Night cycle. Would be great on insurgent mode to wait until night time before preparing an assault on a heavily defended cache. Or bunker down as infantry before moving under the cover of night.
-The weapons. Although the nano suits and alien weapons would have to be removed the weapon load out/customization could prove to be interesting allowing players a personal touch to their rifles. Night vision and other equipment is also available in the vanilla game.
-The Enviroment. Something that is far superior to what we have in Battlefield 2. Throughout the dense forests and lush jungles that could be created infantry would be very difficult to spot making the game all more deadly.

Problems with the game
-Possible player limit (I have to check I can not remember if it is 32 or 64)
-No initial 'base building' system
-Lack of vanilla vehicles. Vehicles also have similar 'arcade' style of combat as in Battlefield 2 vanilla.
-Lack of vanilla weapons.
-Alien weapons/suits/vehicles need to be removed
-Small player base attached to the original game
-No 'class' system. The game uses a prestige system which could be tinkered with to create load outs of some sort.
-No vanilla jet aircraft. However there are helicopters.

Discuss what you think PR would be like on Crysis ;-)

consider that crysis is already a resource hog then add PR to that equation.

I think the mod's future is either indie, BF3 (if it ever happens, could be as **** as BF2), or ARMA2 engine.
BF3 has a player limit and ArmA is already realistic, no need to mod it.

I hope that PR will move platform eventually but I dont think we are there yet. In a few years there might be even better engines that allows for more customizability while looking great. Since there is so much work to do, the BIG LEAP should be considered when the bf2 engine really has lost all its charm. The biggest concern should be how much is customizable and how much is hardcoded so we dont have to see that dreaded word quite as often in a reply to a suggestion.

Show us with a 64-player Crysis server with 4k maps with no lag and a properly organized commander-squad leader-squad member command chain system with 3D huds and organized VOIP and replacements for all of the vanilla models and textures that PR uses now, and I'm sure the PR Dev team will consider it.
