I have a problem

I am a very good heli pilot, I was good in vanilla, and I love the flying here, I find its much more smoother and realistic.

But I cant take off...

the ONE time I did take off me and my gunner took out 2 apaches (not sure if pilots were noob or what), every other time I usually crash. I think im just impatient but I'm waiting there for a while and the heli just flips over >:{D any small tips that I wouldnt know about?

The engine need a lot of time to warm up fully. Even in the air you will notice the heli a bit slow and sluggish at first

Don't be to rushed in taking of. Always wait until you hear the engine pick up and always test the throttle before flooring it. After a while you will feel when the chopper is ready.

If possible, when you see someone get in a chopper next to you, wait till they take of safely, then you will now for sure your chopper is ready to rock and roll (but not crash)

Before taking of move side to side using the rudder. just to clear the tail from any possible bugs. (Back flipped a chopper on a carrier) make sure no one is in the way before hand.

Choppers take quite some time to 'spin up' and be ready for takeoff.

When you hop in the chopper, keep the throttle at zero and give it at least 30 seconds. Try to take off sooner, and you'll be upside down ....

Stay around 0% in the first 30 sec after you entered the heli. And listen to the turbines.

Go on a training server.

I find Heuys take the piss to take of. Can feel like it is never warmed up.

Try little birds first.

Just be patient.
You have enough time to take off and fight.

Train on a training first , rather than waisting assets and read the manual.

You say you are a very good pilot but you don't know how to take off? :|

As some of the others have said, find a training server and have a play around.

I've got one running (details on my sig) so feel free to jump on and fly to your heart's content.

In BF2 everyone could fly a chopper.

I assume you're one of those squadleaders people will follow, so you don't need to fly. In fact you shouldn't ;-)

That. PR is not BF2.

Reason why the Hueys take a litle longer to warm up (ONE MINUTE) is that there was something wrong wih the coding so yah, and obviously, everyone says that they could fly in Vanilla...but PLEASE practice in a training server as others have suggested.

1. I cant stand vanilla
2. Pilots like me? I'm not flying until im 100% sure I can take off and land
3. A fat guy can walk but he has a hard time getting up off the floor, your point is? Like I said, the controls aren't much more different than vanilla besides the increased sensitivity and general smoothness of things...its better that way, I find it easy, so what? Jealous?

Also, Ive only ruined about 4 choppers in a real game, everything else ive ruined is either on a training server, or me and a clanmate messing about at 3 in the morning on GSA
