AT from choppers

I havent tried IRL, lol. But when someone fires anything from and AT4 to a SRAW from a littlebird or any other type of chopper im sure that there would be adverse effects on the chopper or crew.

I know that its fun in-game to hunt tanks and armour from the sides of littlebirds but i suggest that the game penalises those who do, eg the chopper being thrown in a direction or mabe catastrophic/non-catastrophic damage to the chopper and or pilot.

Sounds... Hard to do. And I don't think they'd be thrown around (recoil's not that big), more like the crew being charred simply from the backblast of the AT-4. And THAT still hasn't found a way to be implemented.

Rockets dont have recoil; just a backblast (atleast anything but the Javelin, which launches its rocket as I recall)

what are your chances of actually hitting something from a chopper anyway

If I recall correctly, the Devs plan on having no weapons available on the helicopters. Your hands would be "empty" when you're a passenger, to avoid these kind of antics. When you're riding in a Lynx, for example, you can't use any of your weapons.

I'm not sure if Little Birds will get this treatment, but if so, shooting HATs and chucking C4 from the seat would be impossible. And they are transport helicopters.

Shame we can't make it so only the main weapon could be fired, since that's used extensively I would beleive. I mean your out there on a bench, and your being shot at by guys usually on the ground or roof tops so taking shots at them shouldnt be that hard, hitting is something else entirely but at elast you'll be able to suppress the buggers

On Qwai river I had a HAT kit in my lilbird squad and we managed to kill 4 tanks and 2 apcs in the round.

I don't like blanket suggestions like stopping people using their weapons on choppers, 'cause that has its obvious regular uses, but also some other ones, too.

Can it not just be recognised as a kickable offence and just generally poor sportsmanship, as with baserape/TK/lonewolfing/solo vehicles?

I think its impossible to damage a vehicle that you are inside (by shooting at it etc) only by area explosion (ie, to close to the ground firing the HAT).

Guys like i said, the mec APC has like a side gunner, with a small carbine or something, a machine gun perhaps, it doesnt sound to hard to code that into the veichle..?

Booo i dont like it ^_^ I love firing Sraws and AT from Helis INFACT : ( All AT weapons fired From a Vehicle are 80% more accurate in PR due to an accelerated Balance meeter AKA the little Lines that Focus in the center of the crosshairs.

The Chinese APC has some gun ports as well, if we're talking about the same thing. For those curious, the Bradley or the LAV-25 lack these gun ports for realism, I assume.

Having that on a LB might work if you made the machine gun look like that faction's primary weapon, but how would it discriminate between scoped, ironsight or aimpoint in flight? And scoping in would be instant, because vehicles weapons can't have animations.

Unless you mean something else as an alternative . . . By the way, I'm not trying to cut down your idea, just trying to determine some of the negative side effects. :)

I dont think there are any problems with this...you know IF we go to war wit some well armed nation/faction this MIGHT be a possibility, although not exactly the same

We could have passengers in the LB stow their weapons.

As for the Bradley, it too has firing ports, though they can only be used with the M231 Firing Port Weapon.
