Did a quick search and did not find anything - does anyone know if the LB gunship on Ramiel no longer has hydras? I flew it on battlearena a few days ago, and had only miniguns. However when I practice with it on the same map in PRSP, it still has hydras. Did 0.85 take out the LB's hydras on all maps, or just Ramiel? Or could this be a server-side modification only?

Yes, it is on Ramiel, no, it doesn't have Hydras.

The Littlebird with hydras is the epitome of one-man lonewolf vehicles.

Last time I saw the hydra little bird was back on Zatar Wetlands.

My humble opinion is the little bird needs to go since it is primarily a special forces vehicle and DEVs keep saying they want PR to reflect conventional forces and not the special forces. The little should have left with the special forces kit... if the DEVs are true to form.

LB is fine, if anything I'd like to see two on the map so they can work together.

Really...Hydras are not that powerful, really, unless the person who brought this up was just pwned by an excellent LB pilot on Ramiel and decided to whine about it here.

The LB is vulnerable in so many other ways that it really balances out. Slow, little cockpit protection, low health, little ammo, open to 12.7mm technical fire from almost anywhere in the city...

Give that good LB pilot some credit. It takes some skill to stay alive and do some damage on Ramiel, and it won't happen without teammates to designate targets and threats. It's only a flying coffin for lone wolves.

gclark is absolutely right, they are extremely hard to make any use out of, and an unexperienced/uncooperative player will die within minutes of acquiring it. So give the pilot some credit, he's obviously complied with his team (to some degree) and shown skill.

Now, as to the LB's purpose on the map, it doesn't have much of one as any kind of CAS. THere might be the occasion whre you can help supporting infantry, but mainly it should be used to scout out areas, imo. Dodging RPGs is easy at higher speeds, and when you hear someone ripping an RPK on you, you can tell you might be getting close to an unshown cache. I've done that in the few times I've ever played in the LB on that map, and after reporting it, infantry went in and sure enough belw up the cache.

nothing in PR is in game purely for funs sake. if that was the case all the US army guys would have a mixture of G36s, SCARS, steyr AUGs, dual desert eagles ect. because ya know, that would be fun. it would also be completely unrealistic, and PR is about realism. i too would love to see the little bird go, i think its just such a 1337 moron magnet and it really irks me to see it launching off carriers and being used by marines.

Only the delta units attached to the Rangers got the little bird rides. Most of the Rangers and a few delta came in the black hawks. To be honest to see Marines riding little birds kind of ruins the reality experience. With the new 4km maps coming (and thus more landing spots) the devs can start replacing the LB with other aircraft (heuy, V-22, Blackhawk). It's all in good time guys....

There will always be at least one map with a Little Bird in PR. It's an icon.

Only the delta units attached to the Rangers got the little bird rides. Most of the Rangers and a few delta came in the black hawks. To be honest to see Marines riding little birds kind of ruins the reality experience.
