The "Need APC/Helicopter" and "Need Supplies/Repairs" tactical commorose requests and icons work really well, and are used frequently in all applicable rounds.
What do you guys reckon to a right click on the "Need reinforcements" that's a request for firesupport?
It's similar to how CAS was meant to work back in 0.7, but I mean in a more general way - so 50cal hummers, Tanks and APCs as well as aircraft can have a system for providing accurate firesupport where men on the ground need it.
This is instead of using an attack marker, calling the marker's location out in teamchat, out-of-squad supporting vehicle placing its own marker and moving in.

amg very useful to coordinating with squads that arent directly (vocally) communicated with us

Maybe add a whole new comma rose for fire support etc? like one for tanks, one for AT, one for jets? Also a general need evac for non SLs?

An excellent idea! And now that you sparked the thought: why didnt anyone came up with this? I can see a blast icon on the map where we need it. By the time the fire support arives I think it will be apparent where it s needed. Just shoot in the direction where the squad is shooting at.

Or! now that the devs are trying to integrate mumble in to the whole thing the SL or SM's can just direct the APC or hummer fire.

Does "need a pick-up" provide such an icon for transport if a squaddie and not a SL pops it? 'Cause how often do you switch to a squad, only to have to trek impractical distances to hook up with them? Would be kinda cool if (and only if) people in transport choppers / transport trucks / transport boats could see the stranded squaddies who desperately need a pick-up (even if it's just getting them a little closer to their squadmates, rather than dropping them right next to them!) as they go by and take pity on their over-worked feet.

Yeah...but to everyone.

So it will be 3d marker for everyone? Like vanilla mine markers?

It is realistic to call for fire support

No it will just be like the need supply or transport marker on the map I think. It will appear on the squad, but like I said in my other post, when mumble is integrated or the support arrives at the location it will probably be apparent where they need to fire. The squad who requested it firing in a direction is one of the things that will give it away I think.

this is one of the only things in the game that bugs me but i keep forgetting to say about!

I want a request fire support button, that locks onto what my attack marker is on. the commander is redundant, let him die!!!!!
