My only sugestion, now that I know what your doing 
is to move the start point a little closer to the front (maybe less then a meter). Whats cool in the first pic is the engine itself is on fire. So to have the PR planes with a bit of fire coming thru the end would be cool.
Ether way its a good looking effect. Any way to put in a random flash of fire as if the engine is sputtering?
