Mumble configuration question

Hey guys, I wasn't really sure where to post this, so I figured here is as good as anywhere. I have a little batch file I use to open PR, TS, and Mumble with a single click. TS logs me into the server and channel I want, and Mumble connects me to the PR Mumble server. However, I can't seem to get it to drop me into the correct channel no matter what I do. Any ideas? Here's the batch file:

Code: Select all

cd\Program Files (x86)\EA Games\Battlefield 2
Del "pb\pbns_c.dat"
Start "Project Reality 0.85 Launcher" BF2.exe +modPath mods/pr +menu 1 +restart 1 +fullscreen 1 +szx 1680 +szy 1050 +playerName A_Grounded_Pilot +playerPassword SuperSecretSquirrelPassword
Start /d "C:\Program Files (x86)\Teamspeak2_RC2" teamspeak.exe "67.19.106.94?nickname=|TG-X| A_Grounded_Pilot?loginname=agroundedpilot.SomeRandomNumber?password=NotSoSecretPassword?channel=In-House Squad Channels?subchannel=10th Tactical Guard"
Start /d "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mumble" mumble.exe "mumble://|TG-X|[email protected]/TG - Tactical Gamer #1 (USA)"
Exit
I always end up in the Mumble main channel. What am I doing wrong?

Hmm ... not sure I am afraid, if I find something out about it though I will let you know. I know it has a default memory that shifts you to the channel that you were in when you quit ... perhaps this overrides your settings ?

If this was the case I'd be satisfied, but it doesn't seem to matter which channel I'm in when I quit. When I open it back up, I'm always down at the bottom of the list. Maybe there's a setting in mumble I missed somewhere? I followed the config thread exactly...

Here's the mumble wiki describing the creation of a shortcut.

I thought the same thing, so I tried quotations to no avail. Then I tried setting it up to send me to the AFK channel, thinking perhaps all the non-alphanumerics in the TG channel name were throwing it for a loop. Still no dice. If you see anything I'm missing, please let me know.

I had a look at what the mumble main.cpp does with the command line arguments ... it hands them on to various Qt modules, so its not immediately obvious what it takes.

Have you tried it by creating a short cut , exactly like it says in the instructions (those instructions are for a shortcut not command line)? IF that doesn't work then it may be that the move to channel thing is only available to registered members.

Yes I did try that. Didn't work. So I guess it seems as if there isn't really a way to accomplish this unless I'm a registered member? Who are the registered members? Those with admin rights?

addaco, just copy and paste that code into a txt file and replace the names, passwords, and IPs. You may have to modify the PR command line parameters as well (szx & szy mainly). Save it as a .bat file, point your shortcut at it and viola, you're done.

ETA - make sure if you're running a 32 bit OS that you delete the (x86) references as well.

No ... just the DEVs I think. Not sure, its Scott from TCC who runs the server .... you would have to ask him.

No I dont think mumble detects what server you are on. Probably because it doesn't matter to it, it does all its stuff through the client ... you can log onto any server channel and as long as you are in the same channel as who you are talking to it will work in game.

Yeah I know how to get server info (don't need python) ... then you would have to set up a map table keying each server name to its equivalent channel in Mumble ... then you would have to deal with the fact that you cant boot into channel anyway (unless perhaps if registered).

Lets just say I just have a few more important things to do ... like getting it working ;)

However comments noted ... it would be a nice feature. But nuts and bolts first .. cosmetics later :D

And Addaco , does your shortcuts launch you into channel even if you arent registered ?
