Rallypoint Fix Suggestion

One thing I always found funny was that RPs are camoed, but their countries flag is not, defeating the purpose. The Russian flag is especially noticable and sticks out like a sore thumb. Could the flags be camoed as well?

How would you do that?

Maybe darkening the flag color a little to make them less of a sore thumb? I know that Russian one is super bright, but since it's the first time the Russians have been in this mod, there will be some little things, so in time improvements will undoubtedly be made. :)

While we're on the subject, should rally points have flags on them denoting who it belongs to? I'd think without the somewhat bright flags, there'd be no need to camo them. Also, when going to knife a rally, people should check their map to see who it belongs to, not just see the friendly tell-tale flag and go on their merry way.

Then again, on the Russian maps now, all they face are the Chechens, who's rallies are different from the conventional forces. In time, there will be new maps pitting the Russians with whoever, both sides having bag rallies.

His point is when your looking through optics of binoculars and you are scanning an area the thing that stands out is the flags on the RP. While I understand the want I dont agree with the need. Players need to stop thinking of RP as an asset and more of a objective. If you can see a tiny flag you should be able to see a rallying of troops on a RP which it represent. Hence its not a huge priority or might not even be a priority at all.

well many armies dont even use the flags in their full colors at a combat zone but theyre simplified and the colors is camouflaged to the need

I don't want to bash this idea but making a camoed flag is pointless THB.

RP is soooooo easy to spot and changing the flag colours will not change this fact.... and if you work with your squad enemy rally point will be overrun before you'll get the chance to see it (if it's hidden and not just put in the middle of open area ;) ).

Exactly, who the hell puts there rally point in the open to where you can just spot it while looking around anyways. If you hid your rally you wouldn't have this problem and tbh I never even notice the flags I usaully just run into rallys walking around.

I figured it would only take some photoshopping in of a darker colored flag and then changing of the files.

And you can't say that it doesn't matter really because before, the RPs were just straight solid colors. Now they are camoed since *insert patch* and it would only seem natural that the flags should be darkened too IMO.

How can you change the RPs prime colors and then just leave the flags bright colors is what I am asking?

If I put my RPs out in the open, I wouldn't have even suggested this

That's the point, if you hide your rally on a jungle or woodland map in dense brush, the flag still sticks out like a sore thumb.

It is about that easy, opening the files and fixing. Maybe the art team will take a look at there brightness. Only issue you run into are people acting to fast and knife there teammates rally's

Personally I don't see the big issue. If you can see a rally point you in theory can see the massing of troops. Which is what they represent.

Well sometimes when you are moving fast in dense brush or forest, you can't see the rally because it is camoed. I guess it may depend on what graphical settings you have it on too, but on my settings (all high, dynamic shadows/lighting low), the flags stick out like sore thumbs, especially when scanning a woodland or forest area from afar.

On dark maps like Barracuda, the camo actually helps IMO.

And I do't think of RPs as always massing of troops because they are primarily supposed to be left back out of combat (hence this suggeston). I could see it as so on an urban map where you can't really hide it during an assault, but on a jungle map, your gear would be left out of sight.

Maybe we could have faction specific camo for rally points instead of the flags? AFAIK rally point represents dropped gear so it sounds quite logical to me to have MARPAT camo on USMC rally point, etc, etc...

It will be overrun anyway if enemy squad comes near but at least will be harder to spot for some random solo wannabe RP hunter ;) especially on forest/jungle maps.

Just a thought.... What do you think?

Pretty good idea. It will still need a flag on it though (darkened) just in case people get mixed up about the camos.
