I saw my first successful car suicide attack yesterday; and although it was awesome and realistic by the fact that it's 'in the game', it was somewhat chilling to watch. The Islamic music from the car's stereo just made it more so.
I used to hate Insurgency mode, I'm now going to seek the same map as yesterday.
p.s the bomber killed 3 US troops.
Thoughts?

It is a pretty awesome sight. A squadmate and I were stalking apc's on Al Basrah when we saw Big Red come speeding toward them. We both ran the heck out of there as fast as we could. Sure enough when we turned back around, both the apcs were no more.

i always fail with suicide car/big red, thats why i stick to RPG/IED
but the RKG-3 attacks are much more chilling, in-game and IRL content removed

What does RKG-3 stand for?
In that video all I saw was terrorist wannabees throwing petrol bombs.

RKG-3 is an anti-armor hand grenade. Some insurgent kits have them. In real life, they're designed to be thrown above an armored vehicle, detonating a shaped charge downwards through the roof. In PR they're simply grenades that do a lot of damage to vehicles.

In PR they have a shaped blast in the direction and angle they are thrown from.

Huh. Didn't know that. Does this mean I should throw them directly at passing vehicles instead of trying to lob them higher up like ordinary grenades?

Yes that is what RKGs are for, I am surprised the amount of people who still don't know RKGs are for killing vehicles.
Even know that is not how they are used in real life. Unfortunately I don't think BF2 would be able to duplicate this parachute effect so for now you just have to hit the vehicle directly with the RKG.
"RKG stands for Ruchnaya Kumulyativnaya Granata (Handheld Shaped Charge Grenade). When the pin is pulled and the grenade is thrown a four-panelled drogue parachute is deployed by a spring. This parachute stabilizes the grenade in flight and ensures that the grenade strikes the target at a 90 degree angle, maximising the effect of the shaped charge."

Hehe, brings back memories when I once managed to blow up Challenger tank with the Big Red The crew needs glasses because they failed to spot a truck coming towards them.
RKG's are pretty underestimated at the moment but they are really powerful weapon against hummers. I've destroyed multiple vehicles with them, so use them!

They didnt seem to do much against the vehicles there. How is this in most cases? Just wondering. Seem to do more against the crew on the .50 with there shockwave than the armoured humvee right?
And some of these guys stand really close! How they dont get wounded or taken out by the blast is beyond me! Ofcourse I only know movie and game shockwave's and explosions

It's because of the shaped charge of the RKG, all the blast is directed into a funnel that is reversed releasing a hot stream of metal, probably copper, which causes the armor piercing capability. In PR the blast has little blast damage and it only damages in the direction that the grenade is facing. On Kozelsk a Russian BTR-60 was harassing us at the bunker complex, and I managed to get onto a building above it and throw one, didn't kill it, but it was smoking and had to retreat for repairs.

I Agree, use the RKGs guys... by the way, the shotgun of the insurgents rocks in close combat...
