I have tried the Special Rifleman Kit that comes with the grappling hook,
the problem is that once you chuck it up, climb up and pick it back up, how do you get down?

The reason that I picked it up is because some team mate before forgot and it dissappear :S

So I picked it up to make sure, but unsure how to get down...

consequently i was forced to jump down to my death

And picking it up its a good sign for stealth -- you woudnt want to leave the rope for the enemy to spot you are up there...

So any one here familiar with the grappling?

You can stand on the edge with the hook and quick tap right click. Sometimes the rope will fall the right way. (Takes practice.) Or! Stand 5 meters or so back from the edge and throw it just over the edge. The non-hook end of the rope should stay on the roof and you can climb down off the roof.

A bit of practice gets your timing / technique down.

This is prob in the wrong place for this question but anyway...

2 Methods


1) If you look at the edge of the obstacle you just climbed and press right mouse button itll throw the hook at the edge and the rope will fall down the obstacle allowing you to climb down

Inshort look at the edge of the building/ledge etc and right click to throw the rope down to climb down

2) What i personally use as its easier to do stand back 2-3 paces and throw the rope near the egde using RIGHT mouse button as you would to climb up.. the hook will hit the floor but the rope should stay near you enough to use it to climb down.

Thanks guys! I will give it a try on training servers .

Right click is the hard way. Just stand 2-3 feet away from the edge like Hybrid mentioned, then just left click and throw it on the ground. It always works.

If you ever lose your grappling hook, you can always grab another one from a friendly crate near you
